We just made a timejump from the First Arrival's thread to four days later, for the arrival of Choice, Edgerunner and Jaseio. Thus, we need to establish what happened in those days  The old threads are still open, so there's plenty of time to add things to "the past", no worries! But we should establish a few things, so the elves who arrived first can interact with the new ones. I had a discussion with Tam on Facebook to establish some things that have happened in the four days, so her elf could jump into the new thread. All that info has been posted here. Established facts:- No-Sting, Silverthorn and Swift-Wind discovered a human village by the coast. We'll play out that in the "past thread" as soon as all players involved have the time. Just know your elf knows of the humans present.
- Since we have a few elves who feel horrible when they're in caves, a small shelter has been built (who other than No-Sting and Swift-Wind have experience with snow and this type of forest?) made of evergreen branches and sticks. It's small, so only those who _really_ don't want to go in the caves should sleep there. There isn't much to sleep on either in the shelter or in the caves (evergreen branches, here we come!) so a lot of people are most likely missing their usual beddings
 - As for food, our hunters and fishers haven't been completely out of luck, so our elves aren't starving. That said it's still winter and most are hunting in a new environment, so there hasn't been too plentiful prey. In short, a few more mouths to feed could be problematic unless we start finding more food in one go.
Feel free to comment here in this thread and add events and facts of the "missing" four days! Additional information: The magical "barrier" we've been talking about only affects humans and elves, not animals or trolls. Elves can see the barrier and thus avoid it (touching it will hurt like you wouldn't believe and going through it means serious injury, in some cases instant death). Humans can't see it, but they go mad if they go through it - some fall down dead even. Trolls see and feel nothing. Preservers see the barrier, but it won't kill or drive them mad; it just hurts a lot when they fly through, but there are no visible injuries. |

Since the water is quite cold in the winter it isn’t the best way to catch fish with bare hands and even fishing with spears isn’t that profitable. I think some fish traps would be good. Rokuta knows how they are made and has experience with the use, so that wouldn’t be a problem. For the first time, he would have set up his net for gillnetting, a method where the net stands vertical in the water and fish that tries to swim through gets caught. To make a normal net to a gill net, you only need some stones and pieces of wood. Smaller fish goes easily through the net mesh, but bigger ones – mostly predatory fish – would get stuck. Because they don’t die in the net it would be enough to look once or twice a day after it and pick the fish out.  Another way for fishing that avoids sitting around and wait for fish would be fish traps. They are usually made of net, but we have only one and that’s not big enough so a fish trap made of pliable branches or brushwood would be the better way. Even with stone barriers in the river it’s possible and the use of that goes back till the Stone Age. Like with the gill net, you would only have to look after the traps and pick the – still alive and unhurt – fish out of it. The catching does it all by itself. But like I said, Rokutas net isn’t enough for this (I’m not sure if another elf has a net with him) and to build fish traps out of brushwood is hard work and depending on the fish you want to catch it can get complicated. Great to know what Rokuta has been up to!
As for my own elves, Keleero has been keeping inside the mountain as much as he's been able to, reshaping it to make it more comfortable for those elves willing to sleep inside it. He's also reshaped the entrance to the Beacon Room, to make it harder for outsiders to see and to stop too much wind from getting inside. He's also working on shaping vents so the tunnels in the mountain get enough air in them. He's tried to be friendly but not too friendly with everyone.
No-Sting has been doing her best to hunt for food and help build the shelter and gather evergreen branches for bedding. She too has tried to make friends with everyone, but is a bit tongue tied around Badger because dammit she's all pretty and stuff! Not that the rest of the group are ugly, but some are eeriely beautiful, almost like High Ones surely, and others are just not No-Sting's type. Mostly she's more at ease around people her own height, who don't display too much magic.

That was just what he has done to help with surviving Here comes the rest Rokuta sleeps in the cave – he would prefer to sleep in a tree and outside, but as long as it is winter he can live with that, since his people also live in caves during the Flooding. Even if that caves are more airy and it’s not that cold. During the day he would stay outside – till he freezes – and take care of the fish traps and the caught fish, but also do exploring. He will quit the hunting and concentrates on traps, because he never was an active hunter. Since he dislikes being dependent on anyone else he would go outside alone, even if anyone has a problem with that. It’s not his way to listen to anyone, but also he wouldn’t make anyone worry about him. The young boy is trustworthy and able to watch out and with his shielding nearly nothing can happen to him. He would try to be a nice person to everyone, but it will take a while until he sees the others as friends. It is quite possible that it gives problems with his open speaking – he wouldn’t dare to hurt anyone, that’s just the way he is – and with his lack of respect for anyone who tries to decide about him. But most people can’t be angry on him, for he is also a little sunshine that has no problem with new places and people. |

Badger has most likely tried to catch fish with her bare hands. She can be somewhat resistant to cold, but this way of fishing most likely has not been as profitable as trying with a net. As for anything else, she has not been overly social. Of course, talks when talked to, but does not hang on anyone's sleeve. Let me know if you wish to establish some sort of a relationship with her.
Juniper has been helping with the shelter outside, being a treeshaper. I dunno if he has made any proper contacts. Let me know, if you wish to have a thread with him to establish some relations.

Sunset would spend most of her time with Keleero or No-Sting - the kitten's taken a shine to the lynx.

Silverthorn is inclined to spend his days hunting small game, keeping a very wary eye on the humans, and scouting the immediate environment for plants and animals that he recognizes, as well as new plants that appear edible (eaten by animals, wolf-approved, etc.) He sleeps outside, in the trees. He'd also have been very amicable, quick to start and eager to carry on conversations with anyone and everyone. He wants to get to know the others as soon as he can, he really doesn't know how to process the idea of "strangers", so he's overcompensating somewhat for his instincts of distrusting "stranger-wolves" from unknown packs. If your character is the pragmatic sort, open, reliable and happy to chat, they probably get along swimmingly!
