Personality: A cocky, clever elf who thinks very highly of himself. He's not cruel, but he likes to provoke people and he's very eager to argue about anything he feels passionately about (which are are a lot of things). He's quick to make friends with people whose opinions he likes though, and we'll defend his friends as fiercely as he defends his opinions, if not more. Can be a bit of a flirt.
Appearance: 3'10". Build fairly light, but with some muscles. Olive skin tone. He has a tattoo on his left shoulder, of a black owl with its wings folded.
Hair: red, wavy, braided along his forehead, reaches to below his shoulders.
Eyes: brown
Clothes: Wears a long, dark blue skirt that almost reaches the ground – you can see his feet just enough to make out that he's wearing light brown, flat sandals. He also wears a high-necked sleeveless shirt that's light, soft green. It has some thin embroidery around the arms and neck, as well as its hem, that's in gold. He also has warmer clothes to wear (boots, a fur coat, a fur hat, pants to wear under his skirt) that he usually stores in his pack unless he goes outside for a long time.
Jewelry: Earrings in the form of small, round opals, one in each ear.

History:
Mahrak was born from the Recognition of Elduin and Nieven. The Recognition was not a happy one and Nieven left the territory of Elduin's family soon after their calling had been fulfilled. Mahrak thus grew up with his mother's family and those families allied with hers. The Far White was a safe enough place to grow up for a young elf child – though the tiger-blood in their veins had made the elves more solitary than the High Ones they descended from they're far from antisocial and work together most of the time.
Growing up Mahrak went on a fairly uneventful Soul Name Search, had a few furmates, and in general had a pleasant but non-adventurous life. His watershaping magic manifested in his early teens and he's been practicing on his own since then since no one then living shared his talent, though there were other magic users among his kind.
At the end of Mahrak's second century of life his father Nieven died. This had a great impact on Mahrak, despite him not being close with his father. The reason for this was that Nieven had been out traveling, for a long time. When he returned he was sick due to a festering wound, but he faced death with a smile. Nieven confided in Mahrak that he could let go of his body in peace now that he'd seen more of the world, met other elves, and done something other than hunt and sleep day out and day in.
This shook Mahrak to the core. He'd long been restless in The Far White, each day similar to the next. But it took him years to accept what his father had said before he died; leaving was the only option to find something more than the situation that was his current life.
So, finally, Mahrak managed to gather the courage to set out on his own. He hadn't intended to be gone long, but before he knew it he'd wandered for two months, too stubborn to turn back despite not encountering the slightest sign of other elves. Luckily, he managed to stumble upon Nightbird and made friends with her.

Personality: A big ball of fluff that loves everyone. Being an apex predatory with few enemies as well as a skilled hunter has allowed Longsleep to develop into a both friendly and fairly lazy kind of tiger. He'll put up with most anything also long as there's no ill intent – i.e. he's fine with kits climbing all over him or people using him as a pillow. As you can tell from his name he really likes to sleep.
