1. No Pini elves. The Beacon can't reach their world.
2. No High Ones. I think the reason for this is self-explanatory.
3. Don’t play another person’s character without permission. It’s no fun for the other person if you are controlling their character. _If_ you have a player’s permission you may play their character(s), but only then. Usually if a member is going to be gone for a while they will ask someone to play their characters or might ask the Holt to treat them as NPCs.
4. To join you have to be 15 years old. It's likely there'll be descriptions of violence in the game at some point and some romance, which might not be suitable for anyone younger than 15. No one will be forced to partake in adult-ish situations or violent scenes in the rp. If you want to skip some part of the rp, say so and an alternative thread will be created for your character(s). Telling people in advance what sort of situation you'd like to avoid in-game (i.e. violence, flirting, etc.) is very helpful for other players.
5. There's no set activity requirement.
Those options are:
6. There is no limit to how many elves you can play. You can play as many characters you want, but please keep them all active. Having more than three elves can become quite a hassle, so start with one or two elves and see how that goes, before you load up with seven. Making different accounts for different elves can be a good way to keep track of threads. On this forum you can create multiple profiles for one login; just click the symbol with the two human figures and arrows in the lower right corner to set up a second account or to switch between already existing accounts.
7. Recognition will be selected by random draw. If you don't want your elf to Recognize, just tell let the group know and your elf/elves will be taken out of the draw.
8. Children born in this Holt are NPCs until the age of 5 years, in-game. During that time they're the responsibility of the players of the child's parents, unless someone else is interested in moving the child character around. When the child hits 5 years of age, they will be put up for adoption. The new player of the child will get to decide if the child will develop any magic (though there will be a 'random' element to this overseen by the all active players). Also, if the child has more than one animal-blood (e.g. wolf/lynx-blood) the new player gets to decide which blood will be dominant.
9. Posting order: In a thread with three or less players, you simply take turns (i.e. Player A posts, then B, then C, then A, etc.). With four or more players you have to wait for at least two other players to post before you can post again. Thus, player A posting with two elves in a thread does not count as two players having posted, since the elves belong to the same player. If you haven't posted in a week other players can skip your turn. If you haven't posted in a month other players can nudge your elf out of the thread, to avoid having a silent participant. You're of course welcome back into the thread when you have time to write again.
10. Follow the FreeForum rules. This mean no posting of adult material or extremely violent content. Keep the violence and adult situation at the same level as the original ElfQuest comics and you'll be fine. Also, just be a decent human being in general. Picking fights out of character with other members or spamming/trolling will get you banned.

5. There's no set activity requirement.
- If you know that you won't be able to post within a week, take your elf out of active threads so you don't hold up the game.
- If you haven't been active in a month or two, your elves will be considered "out scouting/hunting/exploring" until you get back.
- If I send out an e-mail asking if you're still interested in the game and you don't answer within two week your character will be dealt with according to your wishes (which you specify when making your elf's CIS).
Those options are:
- Putting your elf up for adoption, so someone else can play them.
- Having your character die.
- Having your character disappear - maybe the beacon sent them home or maybe they got fed up with the Holt and left for the outside world?
