Hello everyone! (Tags so no one accidentally gets left out: SL2657F Nightbird Juniper ) Choice & Crispin have over in this thread come to realize soul names don't work the same for all elves and they're intending to bring this up with more elves in the holt, to try and figure out what might differ between them re: soul names and other things. Choice will absolutely be asking questions about if Recognition is the same for everyone. Other than mine and Sonja's elves, who else would like to join in a thread about this?  |

SL would definitely enjoy learning about it. In her origin, recognition happens, but it's generally something to fear considering that world's reality. She has a soul name, she knows what it is, and she knows not to tell anyone about it. She doesn't know what it's called, only that it is who she is.
Sidenote: totally open for recognition and the panic that will ensue.
Same goes for all my characters. Tambri and FarSight both know and understand soul names. and for them, recognition is the same as it is for standard wolfriders.

I'm down for any of mine to have that conversation, although there will be vastly different answers if you ask Reef than if you ask Sunset or Nightbird. None of them have ever Recognized, though, so it'll definitely be from an outside, cultural perspective rather than personal. Feel free to tag in whomever you think would be most fun for this, or all of them. ^_^
I'm also fine with Recognition panic!

Great! Sounds like we've got a fun thread in the making Crispin do you want to take the lead on this and create a thread or do you want me to do it? Either way works fine for me. I'm currently tempted to have my poor boy Choice Recognize a second time, even though that's "statistically unlikely" based on canon, because it would be so wonderfully chaotic XD Keleero, Mahrak & No-Sting I'm keeping out of the Recognition pool for now. |

Do we have people already picked out or did we wanna do a draw? I think Nightbird is statistically more likely than the other two cause she's been there all of five minutes, but my other two can definitely still be in the pool ^_^

Also, is that new thread open for all characters? Just asking before deciding with which ones to post. I mean, Juniper and Badger would have similar thoughts about their soul name culture, but Eryk does not have one, and might believe this is a conversation where 'no soul name means no speaking turn', in a way. But he might be interested in listening at the outskirts of the discussion.

Looking forward to joining the soul name thread with all elves I can muster!  Seeing as said thread has gotten going and all holt players have replied here, I'm removing the "announcement" status of this thread. And since we seem to have a bit of Recognition-interest going in the holt right now, I'll make a new thread to discuss that (Making a new thread so it'll be easier to find one day in the future - having different discussions in one thread can make looking through the archive tricky.) Update: Forgot we already have a "sticky thread" about planning Recognitions XD It's over here, so everyone interested in plotting about Recognition, come on over |
