First of all, I personally have no idea how to build anything, so anything amiss here can be blamed on that. Eryk has found a nice place next to some hills and near a wide part of a river for his Lodge. I decided he has claimed territory to the north of the Beacon, not too far from it, but far enough so that one does not just accidentally stumble on his 'lawn'. The foundation work started on day 85 SFA (since first arrivals). He has foundation work done, earth evened and flattened and he has started on the stone floor. Stone flooring has been started on day 90 SFA. The floor and the edge of the fireplace are hopefully going to be done on the day 98 SFA. Eryk falls a little sick on days 100-101 SFA. The Lodge won't be too spacey, I am imagining it more as a small hut or tiny cabin, not bigger than my bedroom. If the need should arise, I think the hut can be expanded if he only does it very carefully. He needs to: - haul more rock - finish the floor - set corner stones - start hauling log - set support structure - haul more log - build up the walls - set up the roof - patch and wind proof the walls - start on making furniture - Eryk has suggested building an extra room for FarSight (and the wolves) Other tasks: - add a wood shed next to the cabin, or make it an add-on to the existing structure - build a cellar - start working on some roundpole fences en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roundpole_fence- befriend Asi the horse - build a watchtower - discover and start to gather birch sap next spring

Keleero can likely be persuaded to take an active interest in the lodge, seeing this as a wonderful breath of 'civilization', if he can be tricked into leaving the relative safety of the caves XD No-Sting will find the idea of a lodge fascinating but alien and kinda "troll-like" as trolls are the only creatures she knows of that built dwellings back where she came from. Mahrak will likely take an interest in the lodge, though he'll have a million probing questions about why it's built like it's built and how many of Eryk's people tended to live in one together, etc etc. Choice, unlike the rest, might actually find the idea of a home that's "built" so un-elvish (from his POV) that he finds it uncomfortable to be around at first (though he'd never say that out loud to Eryk, not wanting to hurt his feelings, since Choice knows it's just a strange gut-reaction on his part - he's not _against_ the lodge, just keeps away from it to not reveal how it unsettles him).
(Will get caught up in-game with the events happening on day 91 and forward as soon as events are wrapped up when it comes to day 33 - I am terrible at playing parallel threads with large timejumps between them, but as soon as I know where my elves "end up" after day 33 I'll join y'all in the future ;D)

There is an idea for a thread; No-Sting calling Eryk’s Lodge a hut built for a common troll, while Eryk claims that living in a cave is the habit of common trolls.
Eventually Eryk will invite everyone for a housewarming party or whatever — lodgewarming party?
And see you in the future! xD

Milo would for sure be interested in helping - partly as he grew up in houses, partly because the cave is a bit small to avoid Keleero forever (first impressions be gone badly and all) and he'd like to have his own place elsewhere. Not necessarily the lodge itself, but he is young and just discovering living with other elves. At the very least he wants to be useful and got a bunch of basic experience with tools, if not yet anyone patient enough to actually teach him more. Crispin won't be useful helping built anything, but she'll patiently defend and explain why houses can be a good thing to any doubting elves. And Flint has zero concept of permanent housing nor any opinion towards it (as long as the walls don't start speaking, all is well) so if someone needs to collect materials out in the forest, he can do that.

I don't think Eryk will chase anyone away from his terrain, but there are a few ground rules:
1. Either be helpful or go away 2. At least stay out of the harm's way 3. No one is to touch the sable
So, he also welcomes spectators, if they only don't mess anything up etc. (Eryk: "I don't also mind if anyone wants to bring a snack basket or smth.")
I added adding extra room for FarSight in the original post, so I don't forget he promised that.

FarSight’s room will likely be a small stairway down underground and he'll likely carve out some store rooms, too. He's used to being underground. It wouldn't be a large space but likely a small stairway, leading to a short hallway off which are a couple store rooms then his room. Well lit and all the fun stuff. I'll try to draw up my idea for approval. Feel free to veto details you dont like
