I still want to continue and keep my elves in the holt; I just tend to be pooped after work and other responsibilities... But I think I could fit a visit once or twice a week.

Quick question:
What would you all think if we did away with limitations on how many elves with magic X and skill Y are allowed in the holt? I think I first suggested that rule since it's a "standard rule" in many holts, as having a holt full of healers would be a bit unbelievable, buuuuut since this is a holt where elves just get teleported in from different tribes, it seems a little strange that the beacon would avoid bringing "too many" healers or "too many" plantshapers, etc.
What do you think? I'm sure people would still make elves who're very different from one another, even if we remove those limits.

I´m up for that! Would only track what magics we DO have, maybe with a short line of "why not make something we don't have yet to add to the varity?"

Yeah, I'm still keeping the "these elves have these magics/this is how many magic users we have for X"-lists, the same with the skills, I'd just remove the "only X number of slots left for this magic"-part.

I mean, worst that happens is if we do end up with, say, 10 healers, we ask a player creating number 11 to perhaps choose a different one if they would be open to it. Not flat out refusing, but requesting some diversity.

In my experience with bigger groups and no restrictions, it tends to sort itself out anyway - and even if we end up with ten healers that'd lead to interesting situations of "oh, you're a healer, that's great. how is your stand to killing animals for food?"

Then it's decided! Limit on magics and skills are removed

I've talked to Anna and she's on hiatus for now, being super busy with work and being a mom. She's given me the go-ahead to play Swift-Wind whenever needed until the day she maybe returns as a player.

Since it's now the 4th of July and I haven't heard back from Silverthorn aka Joan, Skye or Panaetha aka Tam yet, I'm putting them on the list of former members. I won't be deleting anyone's accounts or anything, but this means that in the upcoming blizzard plot (as the member situation is now), the following will happen: - Edgerunner (will die) - Greywing (will disappear) - Mindlight (will disappear) - Nightbird (never appeared) - Panaeatha (will disappear) - Reefshadow (will disappear) - Sunset (will disappear)

Since the "disappeared" elves are going to be assumed to be lost in a snowstorm, it'll be easy to take anyone back in if/when they come back later!

Yeah, people who've not replied to e-mails yet are of course welcome to jump back in whenever they want, should that happen Since I haven't gotten any definite answers from them, I've picked to have all their elves disappear - even if death was an option - to make sure no one's elves get written out completely without their approval.

That actually is a good way to do it. That way if real life or this pandemic has just been too much, they aren't suddenly screwed out of a character. It can be assumed they die, a howl or a dance for those who disappeared, and then great rejoicing when they return.

Yup, that was my plan! Edgerunner will be confirmed dead since his player has approved his death, but everyone else will be assumed dead or missing in-game (possibly vanished thanks to the beacon) until that elf's player either confirms their death (thus making it possible for us to confirm it in-game should we wish to), the player confirms the elf has vanished, or the player says they want to rejoin the group. I both want to give people the ability to feel safe leaving their elves in the holt and also don't want to bug people with an e-mail every other week, in case they're no longer interested in the holt. So this is my for-now solution, until I get more replies, should that happen in the future
