Relieved that no one had attacked him after his sudden shaping, Keleero let himself take a deep breath before answering questions. He first turned to the newest arrival, who'd finally said a word he could understand:
"Magic," he first said, letting the glow of rockshaping touch his hands again. To his knowledge all elves could see that glow, whether they themselves had magic or not. But then again, he'd thought all elves could hear sendings...
Shaking himself, he continued, hoping he sounded convincing: "You are hurt. It is dangerous outside. You need a healer." He held up his hands as he spoke, palms towards the newcomer, to show he was unarmed and not inclined to attack. "Stay here. We will help."
And to help they needed to find a healer. A healer who likely was outside the cave. But Keleero didn't trust the newest stranger not to go wobbling off towards the woods just yet. Reaching out, he removed the stone wall over the entrance, revealing Jaseio standing inside the tunnel. As he did so, he reached further as well, bringing a thin stone layer over the tunnel's other entrance.
"I am sorry to have kept you out," Keleero said to Jaseio, giving her a slight bow. He'd heard her speak in that human tongue of hers, muffled by the stone wall – thought he had no idea of what she'd said. "Our newest arrival seemed keen on getting outside while quite injured. I reacted on instinct, I'm afraid to say." Calculated instinct, but there was no need to tell anyone else that.
Keleero sent back a faint pulse of gratitude to Swift-Wind, for her praise of his skills. It was good to know he could impress others with his magic still; people who were impressed by you seldom stabbed you in the back.
To the room as a whole, he asked: "Does anyone know where one of the healers can be found?"

SL2657F scrambled away from the wall as it began to disappear once more, just as it had appeared before. The elf on the other side also caused a start, though she still didn't reach for the plasma gun again. Wincing, she just looked between Keleero and the remade exit. The conversation had gone rapidly. Too rapidly for her to follow. The new one that appeared seemed to speak an old or strange form of the Empire's language. It was familiar, but not at the same time. All she was able to catch was that this was a magical gift, which was fairly obvious, and then something about danger outside.
"S...Slow..." She glanced between Keleero and Jaseio. Healer was another word she recognized, but the words were coming too quickly for her to follow. She'd only ever heard a few slaves speaking the Elf tongue. It was punishable to do so. Then there was the apology. 'Sorry' was the apology, right? She couldn't really remember. Was using this magic also forbidden here?
Closing her eyes, she decided to give in. A healer would be nice, though after a few days of rest she'd be able to heal herself. Slowly, she lowered herself back to the floor to take weight off the wounded leg. She decided not to make mention of her own ability to heal, just in case she needed to escape before she could manage on her own. It'd be better if she was in top shape before that happened.

Swift-Wind saw the cave being reshaped again, still impressed but not as much in awe as before. She wondered why Keleero was doing it. One kind of answer came immediatly when she saw Jaseio take form where the wall had been. Swift-Wind was happy for the positive acknowledgement Keleero gave her after her in-awe-ment. And out-loud she evntually said " I'm not sure who's a healer and who's not actually". The she heard her sister No-Sting's lock-sending. All right, I shall be cautious, she thought, when No-Sting said that it's best to listen. And she lock-sent to No-Sting ~**I will, but please hurry. It is quite difficult to make out what's gonna happen here. The new one seems more unstable than the rest. Keleero seems to manage the situation though. He wants to offer the new one som help healing.**~ Swift-Wind started to relax. She knew her sister was coming and the new one suddenly did not seem as scary, as though she had surrendered to the idea of being here.

It seemed like the situation was resolving. At least the carpenter hoped so, for he was not feeling entirely too well. His pale-to-begin-with face was now almost white, considering how he had not yet received the medical equipment for his injuries. With all the focus of the other elves in the possibly hostile and unpredictable newer newcomer, the grey-haired elf took support from the rock and moved by the wall.
Heading very slowly towards the exit, he kept his blue eyes at the others, just in case if he was going to be stopped. At the moment he felt like he was being suffocated -- a part of his common sense reasoned it was not true, considering the entryway being re-opened, but the less reasonable side wanted to shriek and freak out. Not exactly making it to the exit, he noticed there was more elves waiting.
*Just... How many are there?* he wondered in the lonesome privacy of his own thoughts. Then, Eryk noticed his vision getting a little blurry. The carpenter leaned against the wall and inhaled through his nose, exhaling out his mouth.

Keleero, having been distracted by the snow-cat-like newcomer's threatening behavior to the point he'd all but forgotten they had two newcomers in the Beacon Room, started when a hand touched the rock of the wall he'd been shaping. He couldn't constantly sense people touching the rock around him (he'd go mad if he could), but it did happen ever so often when he'd just been shaping. "Y-you won't be able to get out that way," Keleero hurried to say to this newcomer, though he didn't dare reach out or bare the way physically; partly because he'd learned the hard way long ago that such actions were foolish, and partly because this newcomer had arrived wrestling a giant beast. "It's-, oh, you don't look so well. You, eh, you should sit down, before you fall down." Not that Keleero intended to force the issue, if this newcomer proved as unwilling to seek help as the other one. He'd already refused a magical healer, and while Keleero could sympathize a lot with that, it wasn't sure this new elf had the same reasons as Keleero for doing so. It could of course just be pride keeping him from wanting a healer's aid. The other, more hostile newcomer, seemed to have finally given up on making it outside - and on standing, as well, for that matter. Wonderful. **Eh, Mindlight ? Panaetha ? If either of you happen to be in range of the Beacon Room, we greatly need you. There are two injured newcomers here,** Keleero open-sent, hoping to catch at least one of the healers' attention. Who else had skill at healing, though not with magic? It took Keleero a moment to remember, but it finally dawned on him: ** Juniper, are you close to the Beacon Room? We have injured newcomers and one of them would rather not be tended by a magical healer.** "W-we should get them settled, shouldn't we?" Keleero asked Swift-Wind and Jaseio . "Get them some furs from around the firepit, maybe?" The stone floor of the Beacon Room was far from comfortable without the softening of a fur or threee.

SL2657F saw Eryk making his way towards the same exit. She made a brief glance towards the dead snow-cat and wondered what had happened? It was obvious the other elf had fought the beast. It definitely made her sad to see the body just ignored the way it was, but perhaps with all the 'excitement' that was happening just now, it would be tended to later. Using the distraction of the other, nearly collapsing elf, she took a look to the burn on her leg. It was actually quite bad. That grenade went off before she could get out of the blast range, and the plasma wasn't at all deterred by her pants. In fact, some of the material was stuck to the outer edges of the burn, which was still slowly bleeding.
Slowly she trailed her eyes up her leg to her hip, which had no damage, but her side had some small burns beneath the large combat coat she was wearing. Soaked as it was, she felt a shiver go through her body. It was rather cold, wasn't it? She could feel the smaller burns on her arm as well. Her whole right side had caught the blast it seemed. She also was feeling the throbbing in her head, tightness in her chest, likely from nearly drowning and the fall. The rock, which she remembered seeing her head rapidly approaching, definitely had left her likely with some form of head trauma. It wasn't serious, the helmet saw to that, but it didn't prevent her from starting to feel the full impact of what happened today. It did all happen today, right?
She hadn't realized it but she'd leaned her head back against the rock wall she was sitting up against. Letting out another heavy cough, she did note her breathing was getting easier, but she still felt horrible. She smelled horrible. She smelled like a river. And blood. And burnt flesh. Just... where was she? Why didn't they speak the Empire's language? Archaic weapons, forbidden magics... She was trying to listen to the words as the others spoke, the words becoming more familiar. She didn't notice, however, that the words were becoming distant as she seemed to drift out. In a sense she had. She wasn't unconscious or even asleep, but unless she was actually touched, mentally or physically, she wasn't responsive.

OoC: Juniper is nowhere near yet. He is out in the woods to look for medicine for Choice, and make his life a mess with Greywing. Badger is returning from her water and supply trip with No-Sting. ~*~ With No-Sting in her company, Badger took the turn in the corridor that lead to the Beacon Room. She noticed Jaseio at the sealed entrance, and then she noticed the sealed entrance. "Ohh!" she gasped at the sight, but did not manage to ask about it, as it begun to open up again. "Just in the nick of time!" she said out loud at the unsealed entrance, "I brought some medical supplies to -- um." Well, it seemed like there was another injured ... elf? ... in the Beacon Room. She eyed the injuries quickly, unsure if her supplies would be enough for the two injured strangers. Although, maybe the odd looking one would take magical aid?

Jaseio was surprised by the newcomer that appeared as the thin stone disappeared, but reminded herself that it wasn't too different from Panaetha. "It's just fine, Keleero, I was mostly just surprised," she said as she gave him a reassuring smile. She turned to the strange newcomer, mostly leaving the others to what they were doing, and spoke slowly since she had asked for that, but Jaseio spoke to her in human tongue: <You are safe here and no one here will hurt you. It is dangerous to go outside alone. We are trying to find a healer for you. Do you understand this better?> Jaseio kept her open hands in front of her, and squatted down beside the wounded, weird looking elf with a gentle smile, trying to seem as comforting as possible.
It seemed that the newcomer was drifting off, so she gently continued to try and catch her attention, but also gently touched her shoulder with one hand worry clear in her feature. <Where have you been hurt?> Jaseio asked. She could see that one leg was in a bad state, but she wasn’t really sure if there was any more than that.

OOC: Moving Reefshadow away from this thread for now. He's not going to be going back into the Beacon room for a bit, after Keleero sealed it even if only temporary.

Sensing that Juniper was out of sending range - or rejecting his sending - Keleero turned to get furs for the two newcomers. Hopefully Mindlight or Panaetha would answer him soon and come to the aid of the furry newcomer. "It is good to see you," Keleero said to Badger as he caught sight of her. More of 'their own' being in the room meant less of a chance for the furry newcomer to overwhelm them. ~**I've sealed the outer entrance of the tunnel,**~ Keleero lock-sent to all present but the newcomers. ~**I'll open it up again when we know that one can be trusted.**~ His sending indicated the newcomer with the tail. Keleero paused to put a fur down close to Jaseio - not wanting to interrupt her and the furry newcomer's interaction - before turning his attention to the less hostile newcomer. "Badger is here to tend to you wounds," Keleero said to this one, hoping to help him stay awake. "She is no magical healer. What is your name?" OOC: Keleero is a bit too out of things to remember Eryk's name, if he's even heard it (I'll have to read back through the thread and check).

No-Sting, a bit stunned by the commotion in the Beacon Room, made a beeline for Swift-Wind the moment she was sure no newcomer was about to tackle Badger or stab at anyone else. "Are you all right?" No-Sting asked her sister, eyes burning with concern. "What's happened here? Those two look half-dead! Did they show up like this?" No guarantee Swift-Wind knew the answers to that, but it felt better to ask than to wonder.

SL2657F had been drifting more than she had realized. When Jaseio'Jaseio's hand touched her shoulder, she jeered 'awake' and brought her left hand to grab the wrist of the other elf before she realized there wasn't a danger. For now.
The language that the other was speaking was older, different but she understood it better than the Elfin tongue being used all around her. She nodded slightly in response to the question and shifted to adjust her position some. She didn't want to reveal where she had been hit but the healer would find it anyway.
"<My side and arm... it isn't bad. I've lived through worse.>" Worse was, however, figurative. A shrapnel grenade once had nearly killed her in one of her earlier missions. Plasma at least mostly cauterized the edges.... though it could be far more deadly depending on where it hits.
Ooc: moving in about 2 weeks so I may be slower than usual to respond. If necessary, she isn't going to fight being moved. She would even accept help walking so if you need to move her in a post or something feel free. Right now the fight is on hiatus.

Post by Panaetha on Feb 28, 2016 6:34:39 GMT 1
Panaetha glided in to the caves; the many days she'd been here made it easier for her now, but she was still as unsettled by the enclosed space as she had been the first day. "I apologize for the delay," she nodded in greeting to Keleero, "Pardus and I were..." Her voice trailed off as her golden eyes widened, seeing a pale cat-elf on the ground nearby. "I...see," she nodded, not needing to ask Keleero what she was needed for. She saw Badger nearby, tending to what looked to be another newcomer. She decided to tend to this cat-elf first. Kneeling next to Jaseio and the newcomer, Panaetha took SL2657F's hand and furrowed her brows. Fur...her skin was furred. And spotted, just like her own, but black spots on white instead of black spots on black. Their feline roots were quite related, but this elf had strange clothes, and with features much more feline than she'd seen in any other elf. Even her language was different, but it seemed Jaseio knew it well enough. "My name is Panaetha," she murmured, carefully feeling around with her magic before starting her work. "What happened to you?" She looked at Jaseio for guidance, unsure whether the stranger understood her or not. Her curiosity was certainly piqued, but there were more important matters at hand.

Jaseio gave a slight jump as she was surprise by the furred newcomers sudden consciousness, but she tried to maintain a comforting touch. In a way she recognised some of the words the cat-like newcomer spoke, but it was twisted and garbled. When Panaetha arrived Jaseio made space for her to kneel next to the newcomer. <The healer is here. She will help you,> Jaseio said to SL2657F in an attempt to ease any fear. She turned to Panaetha, “It seems she can only understand a minimum amount of our elvish, but she seems to understand at least some of my human. If you speak slowly she might be able to understand you. I think she said her arm and -- stomach? -- were the parts hurt,” she said hesitantly very unsure if she had understood that part, “but I might have misunderstood. I… some parts of what she says don’t make sense…” After that she sat back a bit to let Panaetha do her work, but she would stay beside this strange new one if her skills in the human language would be needed again.
