OOC: This takes place before No-Sting and Swift-Wind were taken to Beacon Call. Thus, they are the only Holt elves able to take part in this thread.

Poor Oddspot, No-Sting thought, petting her bond's fur. Nature could be ever so cruel some times - taking cubs away from their mother was just one of its cruelest tricks. Born too weak...
~**Sister,**~ No-Sting lock-sent to Swift-Wind, trying to take her mind off her bond's sorrow and how it echoed in her. It was a good thing lynx didn't remember the same way elves did. ~**I am in need of a distraction. Do you want to go fishing? Or should we sneak around by the troll caves perhaps?**~
The birth and loss of Oddspot's cubs had happened only the day before; No-Sting was sure Swift-Wind would know what was troubling her without her explaining it in words.

Swift-wind was playing with her bond-friend Eager, trying not to disturb No-Sting. She knew that No-Sting was upset, but did not want to upset her further by playing and jumping in her prescence. Therfore she had gone off on her own with her bond.
When she heard No-Sting's message, and as she saw it, call for help, she was relieved. Good, she thought, this means she wants to let it go. Swift-wind was no stranger to these things, but she knew one had to move on and look forward. She was glad to help.
~**Yes, of course. Actually I wouldn't mind sneaking off to the caves myself. It i quite exciting.**~ Swift-Wind lock-sent to No-Sting. ~**But we have to be careful**~ she added thoughtfully.

~**I agree,**~ No-Sting lock-sent back to Swift-Wind. ~**Wouldn't want mother to catch us in the act, would we?**~ She added some old and fresh memories of scoldings from their mother - less actual scoldings now that they both were adults, but mothers would be mothers no matter their children's age.
No-Sting quickly made her way to Swift-Wind's side, leaving Oddspot to her rest. Dragging her down into the troll tunnels would be ill-adviced to say the least. Giving Swift-Wind a devious smirk, she said: "Do you want to try that back-tunnel again or should we be bold and try the main entrance this time?"
The troll tunnels held many traps, but through years upon years of negotiation the deadly ones had been removed. One never knew when one needed to escape in or out of a troll tunnel and deadly traps made for an added risk.

Swift-Wind was a bit surprised that No-Sting would suggest the main entrance, it was thought of as being the most dangerous of all of the tunnels. In o´ne swift moment she got a bit scared at the thought, but then she thought Hey, it might be fun. And what a thing to tell the others about. Though not mother. So she answered "Of course we should try the main entrance".

Giving Swift-Wind a wicked grin, No-Sting whirled around on the spot and set off for the trees. **I'll race you there!** she sent, striving for that rush of blind excitement that would wash away all sad thoughts. No-Sting rushed through the trees, enjoying the steady handholds and stepping stones branches made during warm summer nights. The trees were to her an even more familiar way of traveling than walking on the ground - and she didn't think Swift-Wind would have any challenge in keeping up with her.
Oddspot was drawn along by the sudden excitement, darting from tree to tree. It wasn't long before they came to a stop high above the trolls' entrance to their underground lands. And surprisingly there were two troll guards on the entrance, standing at attention.
**What do you think that's about?** No-Sting sent to Swift-Wind.

Swift-Wind saw No-Sting rushing off, sent **Not fair!** then darted after her. It was amazing, running free like this. She did not know she had missed it until now.
When Swift-Wind saw the trolls she was taken quite off guard. But there shouldn't be any trolls here she thought to herself, then answered No-Stings question: **I have no idea. But it doesn't feel right. Maybe we should dart off and hope they don't run so well?**

No-Sting shook her head and gave Swift-Wind a playful look. **Listen to what they're saying!**
One of the trolls heaved a sigh and said to his fellow guard: "I don't think it's fair we get to stand watch here, while he goes hunting."
"He's rich," said the other troll, "and he's looking to get married. What can the two of us put against that?"
**Should we go see where that troll is hiding himself? Maybe try a trade? Or some mischief?** No-Sting showed all of her teeth as she smiled.

OOC: Locking and archiving this thread since Swift-Wind's player is on hiatus. Can of course be brought back from the archive at a later date, should that be wished for
