Since "Gathering Time" is coming to a close, I think it's time to start new threads My suggestion is that we do a short time jump of a few hours. This is because the "groups" Silverthorn suggested were good for what the elves need but a bit uneven for us players + playing every step of the way isn't all too fun. My suggested threads to start are: 1) Hunting and scouting. This thread would be a starting point for all elves hunting and scouting in the forest. You can of course split it into smaller threads after the first posts if you feel the need. Time: a while after the gathering, so you'll have had time to ride a bit into the forest. Watch out for thorny strangleweed! Elves: Edgerunner, Greywing, Panaetha, Silverthorn, Slinker and Swift-Wind. 2) Working in the Caves. Everyone who isn't out in the woods can start out here, in the Beacon Room. Just like with the hunting thread you can split into smaller threads after the first posts if needed. Time: just as Badger and Rokuta have come back from fishing and Choice & Nettle are "done" Elves: Badger, Choice, Jaseio, Juniper, Keleero, Nettle, No-Sting, Reefshadow, Rokuta, Sunset and Tinder. All players can of course choose to start their elves off in different threads, these are just suggestions. If you want your elf to switch or remain without a thread for now, please comment here! goldenbraid and Vareesi are still out hunting somewhere until their players feel they have time to post again

This sounds good to me! Sorry that Silverthorn's suggestions don't quite align with player interests - he's not privy to OOC information ^^. If people who are interested in joining Silverthorn for a scouting/hunting party, let me know and I can open a thread, since he'll probably as bossy about organizing it as he is about everything . I see we have six elves slotted for hunting, which may be a little too many for a thread, so perhaps we can split it three and three? Depending on what other players of that group feel is best.

I'm super down for six, actually. In larger threads, people just have to be mindful of not steamrolling a slower player. And six could be an appropriately sized party depending on what's being hunted...and not everyone has to take the killing blow Or, since it's hunting AND scouting, we could just do two threads from the get-go.

Just wanted to add a note that Sunset and Slinker, already out hunting to clear their heads, have found a patch of strangleweed, in which two deer are caught. Sunset locksent in the thread 'Outside the Firelight' to any hunters that wanted to help them get the deer back to the holt.

With two deer already caught, extra hunting seems wasteful.

Also I'm sorry for not posting her send in the main thread, too. Internet has been really hard for me to get lately, but I'm working on it.

Oh, yes, if the rest of the elves know that there are already two deer then Silverthorn at least won't go hunting for more . But he'd still like to lead a scouting party to have a look around for good grounds, can't hope for strangleweed to always pull us through!

Starting to split up into groups and jumping a bit ahead sounds good to me:)

Oki, with two deer bagged by strangleweed I think scouting is a good idea instead of hunting! Also, there's the wolf pack without elf-blood to deal with Our elves, especially the ones with wolves, will have to deal with them sooner or later, so now is as good a time as any! I'll write more about the wolf pack in the No-Sting knows a thing or two about skinning and preserving meat, so she can take care of the deer, but she will need some help with that. Any volunteers? I'm thinking they'll have finished skinning by the time the thread starts, and that the meat will be preserved in snow and salt from the sea could be very useful for more preserving (future 'quest' for our elves maybe?). No-Sting will leave the skin for any tanner who can tend to it and will try to set up a fire somewhere to smoke some of the meat for more preserving.

Sunset and Slinker could perhaps encounter a couple of the local pack coming for the deer, but they slink off since the elves already laid claim? Or maybe they steal some food later on.
Maybe the skinning can spur that "quest." To get sea salt, they'd need to encounter humans...unless the elves can find a way to gather the salt away from prying eyes.

Since we're all making a time jump together I'm fine with Slinker and Sunset having had to chase away stranger wolves from the strangleweed deer, if they want that to have happened to their elves. I'll reply to their thread with that info, so they can have their elves refer to that if they want, though I think it'll be easier if it happened before the timejump. I'll post the two timejump threads a-sap, with info on what can happen in the different threads! I'll tag elves in the threads I've suggested, but you're all of course free to have your elf enter the other thread instead

I'll post with Slinker in the scouting thread following someone else posting first. I'm not sure where to start, so yeah, moi will assume Slinker is following the others around with Ash to scout stuff.
>.> which sounds both right and just really odd right now.

If Louw has the time, and energy, Jas and Edge might have a thread by themselves right after the gathering to spell out their own misunderstandings, but Jas would have probably joined No-Sting in the skinning of one of the deer after that, continuing on to flesh the hide. ^^ When smoking you often either cure the meat or let it dry while being smoked, and since they can't cure with no salt, they can only dry the meat whilst smoking for preservation

Salt is indeed an issue they will have to solve somehow Seems a trip to the human guarded sea is in the elves' future, one way or the other~ And anyone can of course start splinter-threads on any point on the timeline that they feel like, so Edgerunner and Jaseio can have their heart-to-heart whenever you have the time in real life!
