History:
When Tambri was a cub, she was the daughter of the Chief and Chieftess of their tribe. The tribe had been mostly destroyed by humans and so her parents decided to pack up and leave, to try and make a better life elsewhere, away from the humans. While traveling, Tambri broke from the main group and stopped to look at a spiderweb. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw them, a small band of human hunters. She stared at them, terrified. She knew they saw her, and she knew that they saw her tribe. She couldn't do anything, she just stared, terrified. When she finally managed to send a warning, it was too late. Arrows, swords, spears clashed. The humans attacked, and took many of the tribe down quickly. Tambri just turned and ran.
She waited until almost nightfall before returning to find everyone she knew dead. She searched for her parents, and found them. Her father, strong and determined, looked at peace. Her mother looked as if she could be sleeping. She was alone, young, and scared. She heard a twig snap, and looked. She cried out as an arrow hit her in the side. The humans had come back to get their dead. She ran, blindly through the forest, the humans close behind her. As night fell, she was becoming exhausted. She found a small opening in the trunk of a tree and slid in, hoping the humans didn't see, but they did. Bracing her hands against the opening she screamed, begging the High Ones to close the entrance, to save her.
She felt something strange, then, the magic inside her, and the tree began to change, closing around her. She didn't know how to stop it, or how to do it again. As the darkness closed in around her, she knew she was safe from the humans. She screamed, trying to do it again, to get an opening, there wasn't air, she was trapped, she couldn't escape, the humans would return with fire, she was trapped, she had to get out, she had to open the tree again!
It took some doing, but she finally managed to open it enough that she could squeeze out. Outside, the humans were gone. Her side ached, she was bleeding. She slipped out, then ran. She traveled this way for a long time, living on her own, learning to hunt on her own. Almost 23 years ago, she found a young wolfcub, trying to howl. He was alone, and clearly starving. Tambri went to the young cub with a small piece of ravvit, all she could spare from what was left of her meal. The cub and her instantly bonded, and they have since stayed together. She named him NightSinger because he just wouldn't give up.
She had continued wandering until she found Thornbrook Holt. There, she became lovemates with an Elf named Keeper. She lost him only a few years later, withdrawing back into herself. It was another elf, a Bearrider named Bear who was able to bring her back out of it. She doesn't speak about what happened after, but she ended up wandering once more.
Only two years ago NightSinger finally succumbed to age, sleeping next to his bond. Tambri was devastated at the loss. Alone once more, she resumed wandering. It was only around eight months ago she found a small pack of wolves. She stayed near them, howling to join their song. She noticed they had two pups, one was solid white with dark brown eyes. She began to think of him as the pack's little 'spook'. She was down at the river when she actually met the pup and bonded. Startled that there was a remnant of elf-blood in the pack, she began roaming again, Spook in tow, looking for the elf tribe that must be nearby.
The only thing she knows about how she arrived a Beacon Call was that she went to sleep in one forest, and awoke elsewhere.
