Tribe name: The Long Legs
Leadership: Lead by a chief, but the title is not inherited by blood. Instead, each time a chief passes a new one is chosen by vote.
Type of elves: maned wolf-blooded elves
Soul Names: All Long Legs now living have soul names. They don't know theirs from birth. Instead, when they turn 14-16, they go on a Soul Name Search, on their own. Finding one's soul name usually results in said elf choosing an adult name.
Random Info: Tattoos are important to the Long Legs. The tattoos tend to be personal, but they're only given to elves who've shown they're part of the tribe and ready to support each other. In short, they're not given to elves until they're adults and only on special occasions.
Recognition: A cause for joy among the Long Legs and expected to lead to a lifemating. A few Recognized pairs in the history of the Long Legs (not counting the wilder days of the High Ones and the First Generation of course) have not lifemated, which is usually seen as very odd my their tribe mates and descendants alike.
Location: on another world, on plains where the weather changes between a long hot summer and a rain period. There are some mountains, but most of it is closer to savanna with the occasional clusters of trees and smaller forests, mostly along the rivers.
Culture: Though the maned wolves, unlike their maneless namesakes, don't live in packs, the elf-blooded ones tend to stick closer together. This has lead to the elves they bond with living together in a settlement with tree-dens, but when they hunt they spread out to join their bond-friends in their separate territories. Pregnant maned wolves who have elf-blood tend to stay at the Holt once their bellies grow round and then stay there until their cubs are weaned. These elves sleep during the day and are most active at night.
Events: The home of the The Long Legs used to be closer to a mighty river, but they moved as soon as humans arrived in the area. Or rather, returned to the area. The oldest members of the tribe could recall how their parents had lived with and feared the five-fingers. All agreed on caution around the humans, to not reveal themselves, but that was lost when the elf now known as Choice got caught by them. The tribe has been living in constant fear ever since, always on the move, but too afraid to completely leave their known territory.
Known members: Breeze, Choice, Falcon, Spark
Can other players make elves from this tribe to bring to Beacon Call? Yes, just PM me if you're interested, or (if you're not a member yet) post here.
