Badger took a note of how Juniper said Mahrak’s name, more so of the tone of the other wolfrider. She then felt the same worried vibe from No-Sting, as they noted how Mahrak was getting snoozy and maybe a tad unresponsive.
**It is getting serious!**, Badger sent out to the rescue crew, **We are losing…** Losing what? Air, consciousness, hope, their cool? Badger tried to wrestle the little amount of panic rising inside of her, with sheer willpower of bright metal.

“I’ll try!”, Juniper exclaimed a little too loudly to No-Sting’s question of if he could wake the redhead up. **Come on, now!**, he sent to the other male and grabbed him by the collar.
The truth to be told, Juniper was not in a state or shape to pick anyone up just like that, with the air supply slowly diminishing and the space not very spacious. But he did what he could, pulling the other up, shaking Mahrak, sending to him.
**Keep awake, can you tell me of your home world?**, he requested, panic and worry lacing his own words.

Eryk hurried to bring a fur cover for the icicle elf, FarSight and the wolf, and Flint had been digging up from the snow.
He then felt the send of No-Sting, soon joined by the wolfrider maiden, the panic in their mind voices evident.

Tambri had followed the sends of the others, as FarSight and Flint were digging with the large wolf presumably after another mindvoice. That was confirmed once the former called out for a fur. That was handled before she had any sort of response.
Spook had been digging with the large wolf as well but since moved on, digging at another elf scent.
But it was the near panicked mind voice she was looking for now. Something was wrong wherever that group was. But they were a group. A cave maybe?
She began to try and dig through the snow. If she could find ground... roots... a tree... Her fingers numb when she did finally find a broken tree. She could feel it still filled with life. This tree was still rooted. Closing her eyes and shivering she began to focus. If she could feel through the roots, through the earth...
**If you can... tap on the ground... Im trying... to find...** it was hard to send as she concentrated.

With Sunset found and soon enough uncovered from the snow, Flint switched from attending to her to digging the other elves free. There were enough people around to get her into some furs, warmed up, but he still had the advance of running a higher body temperature, running less of a risk to freeze his hands moving the snow. And anyway he'd rather find this cave, set up a fire in there to warm everyone up. Would be little use doing that out here, with all the wet and cold around.
No-Stings sending guided him well enough. Often enough Sapling and he had used this to keep contact, to find each other in ever-shifting landscapes. This was easier even, when the nature around wasn't trying to actively keep him from it. At first Flint only send back an silent acknowledgement that he heard, was coming... but it seemed things were getting more serious. No choice then.
**Watch out** he advised the elves around, mostly those in the cave, closest to the entrance. Likely nothing would happen to anyone, but better to be warned. Taking a deep breath he conjured flames in the palms of his hand, once more plunging into the snow. They wouldn't be strong enough to outright melt the entrance free, but it'd make getting through notable faster. And once he had some holes created, those could be expanded easier, from both sides. Just had to keep his focus on controlling the fire, remind himself that this was no different than burning through overgrown underbush, that his magic would not cause harm.

The small elf felt herself being pulled free, though she couldn't feel the furs being wrapped around her, and the exhaustion was finally taking over.
As she listened to the sends, Sunset responded sleepily, **Cave...** with a mental indication of the direction the second group had gone in when they split up.
Wolf noses snuffled her, and she felt herself being loaded onto something, and then she allowed herself to slip into unconsciousness with a reassuring ping to No-Sting. **Help...coming...**
OOC: Sunset is going to be unconscious until they can get her warmed properly, she's fine, just cold tired.

The sea elf had moved to join the digging, but the wolves powerful paws seemed best to get out of the way of, so he'd simply stood off to one side, watching. As they'd unburied the cat-elf, he frowned a little, seeing that her lips were turning blue, but she would be fine once she warmed some.
Following the lead of the other elves to the cave, Reefshadow began sending as well to the ones who were trapped, following Eryk's lead on questions to keep them awake.
**Who is inside? Is everyone awake, whole?** The concerned sends to Mahrak had him slightly worried, and he knew what could happen to an elf who froze to death. He readied himself to dig, realizing that Flint had conjured flame in his hands, and his eyebrows rose slightly. The chunks of snow melted away at his touch, but were quickly refreezing into solid ice as they hit the ground.
Going to work, the blue-skinned elf began digging away the ice with his knife so that it didn't create a dangerous patch behind those who were digging.

Woozy as well as distracted by the situation with Mahrak, it took No-Sting a few heartbeats to react to Tambri sending about tapping the ground. Not wanting to distract what sounded like an elf concentrating on something very hard, No-Sting simply began to stamp her feet. Weakly, because the air in the cave had grown heavy and thin at the same time, but it felt better than doing nothing.
Squeezing Badger's hand, No-Sting did her best to acknowledge all the sendings coming their way. It was a relief to feel Sunset send reassurance, even if the elf sounded dead on her feet, and knowing there were elves gathering close by, digging for them, warmed her. In reply to Reefshadow's question, she sent a vague image of what she pictured they all would look like, standing in the cave, if there had been light to see by. Recalling names, even her own, was getting tricky and she honestly worried about accidentally sharing her soul name if she tried sending in words.
Wanting to encourage both herself and the others to hang on, she shared a sense of relief and the brush of safety their rescuers arrival had woken in her, as well as passed along Sunset's reassurance.

A vague, dreamlike image answered Juniper's request for Mahrak to tell him about his home world. A white tundra, bright sunlight, elves wrestling with large, white tigers. Not a true attempt at direct communication, but clearly a response, however subconscious. Mahrak was weak, clearly, but not near death. Not yet. As if Juniper's sending had triggered something else in Mahrak's memory, or set him dreaming, a sending went out from Mahrak. It didn't seek an elfin mind though. No, this was the call to his bond-friend, an instinctive call for aid and warmth. Outside, limping out from the woods, looking far less intimidating than such a huge predator should, came Longsleep. Seeing elves he recognized, the tiger let out a huff of relief and began to make his way toward them and the place where he now knew 'his' elf was. He'd been lost, waiting for a signal to come join the hunt before the mountain seemed to fall down on everything ahead, and couldn't have been more pleased to finally be back among elves. Thinking himself welcome among all elves, he rubbed up against the nearest one in a tiger-friendly way, before he joined in the digging. OOC: Leaving it open for the rescue team to decide who was closest for Longsleep to rub up against and what that elf thought of having a tiger suddenly invade their personal space

FarSight began to help get Sunset towards the sled. Moving carefully over the uneven snow, keeping the fur wrapped around her as best as his shorter frame could. "Just lay down on the sled, we'll keep you covered and warm." He was aware the storm was still blowing snow all around and even their tracks were starting to fill in rapidly. She likely wouldn't have been able to discern any of his features considering his face was completely covered, the bone-carved eye piece with only slits for him to see out of, the hooded, furred coat. He looked as though the cold was something he knew very well just by how he was dressed. In fact the only way she knew he was a he was his voice, deep as it was. But his height maybe made her think he was younger than he actually was.
Tambri (moved with permission) felt the stamping and suddenly a sprout popped up near No-Sting. It was a tree sapling. "Found...them..." She pinged mentally to those searching the direction of the sapling as it continued to grow. She was hoping that the way it naturally grew would be towards the light... the front of the cave. She felt herself getting dizzy. Growing a new sapling in the middle of winter was difficult. The tree didn't want to grow... to make itself vulnerable. Finally she stopped with an approximate one-foot tall sapling.
**It's an opening... a cave... there... Yes, where you're melting... It's not too much deeper...**

Being deeply focused on keeping his fire going had Flint even more quiet than usual, ignoring a lot of what was going on around. For him this was the first time using his magic around a larger group of people, bigger than just lighting a fire. He was deeply afraid of this going wrong, of hurting someone. At least Reefshadow kept behind him, though it was unsettling to hear someone working a knife in his blind spot.
Mahraks tiger coming over startled him for a moment – but good he was well. Elves could send for help, animals not. And with him working deeper and deeper into the snow, it could not get to him, not be at risk of having his fur singed. They sure wouldn't need missing bonds too.
Tambris guidance he only acknowledged with the barest nod, pushing on further. Let it freeze to ice behind his feet, they could take care of that later. And then the last sheet of packed snow crumbled under his hands, having him tumble into the cave, snapping his flames off first thing before catching his fall, quick to be back on his feet. “Everyone here?” Light and cold air would be streaming in behind him, the now-created entrance something they could expand to get everyone out. But most importantly, they had to get those trapped warm. Good thing that in preparation of heading out, Flint had put some dry wood into his backpack, getting this out now and lighting a fire some steps into the cave, for light and warmth.

Badger had not noticed that she had been leaning against the cave wall, then slumping down against it, still holding onto No-Sting's hand. In and out of consciousness, she had noted the pings of sendings of several voices, but being unable to answer them. She had thought of closing her eyes just for a little bit, just for a blink ...
She felt the cool air streaming in, and gasped for a deep breath, starting to actually cry some tears of relief. **Air!**, she sent in delight, giving No-Sting's hand a squeeze and getting up from her slumped position, now that her lungs were filling with fresh air again.

Juniper took the sent images of Mahrak's home world, finding the terrain and feel of the sending ... well, foreign, but interesting... It felt to him, kind of wrong, but he reminded himself that if something was not familiar to him, it did not automatically mean that it was wrong. The treeshaper tried to remain conscious himself, seeing that No-Sting and Badger were already slipping out. He barely acknowledged the sendings from Tambri or Flint, or anyone out, as he tried to keep Mahrak awake. Or alive.
As soon as Badger gasped in both breath and sending, Juniper perked up a bit. **Please get out of the way.**, he weakly sent to the rescuers, a bad sign -- Juniper would have been way more rude and gruff if he had had the energy to be. Basically, he would have shoved others out of his way to get out. Instead, he just steeled himself and picked Mahrak up in an attempt to get them two out of the cave. And then falling on his face.

One elf rescued and safe, Eryk dragged more furs toward the place the rest of the group was digging and melting the snow. There was not much he could do at this point, but he did give worried looks at Tambri, who was ... wasting her energy on shaping a sapling, or... He did not really know. Eryk released an unnoticed tension as the elves inside now pinged sendings of air and wanting space. It meant that the group of diggers had made a breakthrough to the cave where the rest had been trapped.
Well, there were still elves missing, he counted. In the chaos of things, had the Beacon done its ... thing and sent some elves away, too? **Call of names?** he asked, meaning that all the trapped elves would send their name -- then they would be sure of who was NOT here.

Something moved at No-Sting's feet, drawing a yelp from her. In the darkness she had no way of making out what it might be. It didn't feel like an animal, but it was moving. Very unsettling. Not having grown up around magic users, the thought that it might be a plant grown my a plantshaper didn't cross her mind. Especially now when her thoughts were getting so sluggish. A rush of fresh, colder air, along with a sudden rush of light, started her back into full consciousness. The light was not as bright as would have been on a cloudless midday, no, but after a long time in the dark it still blinded her. She returned the squeeze Badger had given her hand and managed a smile as someone made up a fire in the entrance to the cave. **Air indeed,** she sent back, whoozy and relieved. Openly, she managed a **Thank you! Just in time.** She watched Juniper pick up Mahrak with the vague attention you'd pay something in a dream. She was still too bone-weary to fully take in what was happening, which is why she could do little more than gasp as Juniper toppled over, him and Mahrak both heading for the cold stone of the ground, and her both too far away and too weak to help them. This made her miss the request sent by Eryk to share names, too focused on trying to stumble to her feet while still holding Badger's hand.
