Juniper had held onto a tree seed to keep himself not spiraling in despair. He had turned the acorn around in his fingers in silence, but as soon as the others stirred and he felt the sending too, he pocketed the nut and got up from his resting place. He nodded briefly to the plea of the female wolfrider about the rescuers helping the lonely trapped elf first -- they would still have air and time to wait, but the lone elf might be in bad shape by now.

Eryk was not the elf of sending much, but he felt the responses in the distance. He sighed in relief, and reached out to touch the mind of said Sunset. **Can you hear me? Send me a location?**, he sent, hoping they would be close enough and in time enough to rescue all of them. At least the muddled responses seemed promising, but they still had not heard from all of the trapped elves. In the bad case scenario, there was a mix of dead and alive elves to dig out.

FarSight had heard the responses as well and they were heading in the right direction. Once they got even closer he could clearly see the rumpled pile of snow that marked an avalanches location. His heart sank. How many had gone out? He put his booted foot on the break of the sled, calling out as the wolf slowed. Once the sled stopped, he hit a quick release for the wolf's harness. **Find. Dig.** he sent to the large wolf who began sniffing around the snow, bounding from here to there then back the other direction.
**We're here... We're trying to find where to dig!**
The wolf suddenly stopped and began frantically digging with his paws. He was joined a moment later by the much smaller wolf, Spook, as Tambri began to search as well for any sign of where the elves could be. Without responses or sounds, they had to rely on their noses.

Flint had a bit of trouble receiving the first sendings. He'd probably have a headache after this. Well, unless they knew where to dig, his magic wouldn't be much use, wasted to try and melt all of this snow. But he was quick to step off the sled, follow the wolves and help digging where they indicated. At least his fingers wouldn't freeze and if they'd been stuck below longer, warmth was the most important thing. A fire could come later, when they had everyone out and sheltered.

OOC: sorry for the delay!
IC: The cat elf had begun dozing in and out in spite of her struggle to stay awake. She'd tried hard to return the sends but the cold and her injuries just made her so...so tired. He muscles had locked in spite of her attempts to wiggle and stay warm, but at least her hands were still under her arms.
A sending brushed her mind and, groggily, she tried to reply, but it came out more feeling than words. **Buried. Hurts. Cold.**
At least she was too tired to be as much afraid of her situation as she had been in the beginning. She just needed to stay awake. **Tired.**

OOC: No worries, my delay was clearly much longer XD IC:No-Sting waited in drowsy worry, unsure of how much time was passing. She didn't want to send to their would-be rescuers, in case that would distract from their search for Sunset, but she fought to keep awake to be able to guide them once Sunset was safe. ~**Must be someone new,**~ she agreed with Badger , unconsciously reaching out for her hand. She kept the sending locked to make sure it didn't distract others. ~**More hands to dig for us. That's good. That's...**~ Her sending trailed off, her eyelids growing too heavy to keep open.

Badger struggled to stay awake, but the mild shock of someone new at the rescue party kept her a bit more alert. She noticed No-Sting nodding a little and as she held her friend’s hand, the wolfrider also pinched the tuft-eared elf, whispering “this is not the time to fall asleep. We might not…” there was a yawn “… wake up…” Badger staggered up from her seat and tried to remain awake with stomping of her feet, attempting to pull No-Sting up as well. “They will dig Sunset out first, then come for us, right?”

Juniper watched as the others stirred up to the sending of the rescue mission. He turned to look at Mahrak and poked the elf. Badger spoke out loud about not falling asleep, and suddenly the treeshaper was feeling a little worried for the other elf. **Mahrak?**, he sent to the redhead, his eyes darting to others with a look that said ‘I am not ready for this’.

Eryk followed the wolves as soon as they found a spot to dig. He hopped to dig as well, trying to keep mentally connected to Sunset. **Don’t fall asleep!** he told the buried elf, trying to think of ways to keep her awake. **Name me others who are here somewhere!** Maybe remembering names would keep the maiden awake long enough so that they would get her out from the crushing snow grave.

Farsight grabbed a tool from the back of the sled, a small spade. He darted to where the wolves were digging with one of the elves he'd just met. He knelt and began digging quickly. Considering the urgency of the situation, his mindvoice and mannerisms seemed relatively calm. Deep snow and avalanches was something he knew about. A year didn't go by without at least one avalanch. While it had been some time since a hunting party got caught in one, it wasn't unheard of. Besides, digging prey out of dens or buried traps was a common occurrence.
The sleepy send worried him and he felt like they were close to it. **Tell me when you hear my voice.** He then began to sing a song from home. It was probably more upbeat than the situation called for, but it was a loud song and variation in notes. It was something easy for others to pick up on since the chorus repeated every few lines. This was obviously a working song.
"When the sun comes back for a month or two, the sky lights up a brilliant blue! The moons give chase to take back night, the sun puts up a mighty fight! A shining green is what we'll see when the sun goes down once more!"

Flint wasn't much of a talker or sender, so he focused on digging with the wolves, giving a grateful nod when FarSight joined in with a tool. It looked like something his brother Sapling had used – Sapling who was stuck on their dark planet all alone. But no. Couldn't think of that now, couldn't worry when there were others here needing help. Fire might've melted this faster, but he didn't wanted to exhaust himself and if someone was just beneath, they might get hurt by it. That was the last thing he wanted. The singing startled him enough to stop for a moment. Music didn't really exist when there were no other elves around you, no one left to teach, though of course he'd heard it here. Mahrak had made some, the night they talked about tracking the stars. And if Mahrak was somewhere beneath, he'd get him out, bring him back to the holt. He liked the redhead, worried about him a bit more than the others. So he went back to digging, if silently.

Eryk's send reached her and she frowned a little, trying to stay focused and awake enough to answer his question. **I don't - Panaetha, Mindlight -** Who else had been in her group? Why weren't they sending? **E-edgerunner and um...**
She was so cold. The desert never got this cold, even at night during the winter. It felt so heavy. But the pain was starting to subside because of the cold, and a very far away part of her wondered if that was a good thing, but she was too tired to be worried. **G-greywing.**
Finally getting the last name out, Sunset blinked, trying to look for light coming through the snow. It would get lighter as the dug her out, right? The unfamiliar mindvoice seemed worried, and she wondered if she should also be more worried than she was, but she was rapidly losing the energy to even panic about her situation. Singing? Could she -straining to listen, she could just begin to hear something that sounded like singing, but it seemed so muffled, and the way the snow dampened it made it impossible to tell where it was coming from. **I- I hear you - where are you?**

FarSight faltered in his singing at the response but he didn't send anything back. He didn't need to. A moment later a massive wolf paw uncovered a hand. It was immediately followed by a large wolfen tongue as Frostbite began licking snow away from the frozen fingers. FarSight uttered a soft "Good boy" before he began to focus on digging out around the hand, down the arm, until finally they were able to reach the owner of the hand they'd found. He didn't know the elf's name, and it didn't matter to him. The fact was, she was alive. **Here! Bring one of the furs from the sled!**

No-Sting let Badger pull her to her feet, grateful for the pinch, and huddled close to the other elf, all but drawing her into a hug for both warmth and comfort. She had no intention of dying here, especially this close to being rescued. "Of course they will," she answered Badger, with utter conviction. In her world there was not a single doubted her fellow elves would aid her and hers. That's just what elves did for each other. "We'll just need to keep sending to guide them. Help me?" Wordlessly she reached out to Flint , Reefshadow , Eryk and the fourth mind she didn't know - a newcomer? - sending pings of her presence to guide them once they'd hopefully found and freed Sunset. She couldn't wait to be back at the holt, wrapped in warm furs, in a cave with enough air. It was just as she'd begun to relax into the knowledge that help was close-by that No-Sting noticed Juniper 's worried poking at Mahrak. Oh High Ones, no!"Can you wake him?" she asked Juniper, still keeping the sending going to the rescue party. Getting distracted and losing her mental connection with them would do the opposite of helping.

Mahrak barely stirred at Juniper's sending, as if in deep sleep. On pure instinct, a reply came that merely contained the sensation of being cold, of bone-deep weariness, and the strangely numb acceptance of not getting enough air.
