Tribe name: Wandering Steps
Leadership: hereditary, direct descendants of Karis, the first to take the wolf's form.
Type of elves: There are three "types."
-originals: these are the equivalent of High Ones. They're the original elves who landed on Abode, and any of their pureblooded offspring.
-wolfriders: more classic wolfrider type of elf, the perfect blend of pure and wolf blood, though because they are still early in development, many often struggle with which side of themselves to listen to.
-ferals: these are the smallest ones, elves who are seen as more wolf than elf. Modeled after the Hunt. Very fierce, very connected to the land, disdainful of pureblooded originals.
*Greywing is the offspring of a wolfrider and an original, so she is taller than a wolfrider, quite a bit taller than a feral, and shorter than an original, with much more pure blood than wolf.
Soul Names: Elves do have soul names, but a soul name quest's necessity depends on the elf. The more wolf blood an elf has, the more likely they will struggle with the concept of a soul name. Greywing has never had such trouble.
Recognition: Recognition has spread like wildfire. It is much more uncommon for an elf to Recognize only once, though the species as a whole is still adjusting to how they'll flourish with wolf and elf blood, so children of Recognition aren't necessarily guaranteed to be suited to the world, and mortality is higher.
Location: On the world of Abode. They live in a world very similar to the world the High Ones landed on in canon Elfquest.
Culture: The elves of this Abode are nomadic, seeking to find the best resources the planet has. They live in smaller tribes, each with a pure-blooded original (known to later generations as High Ones) and a direct descendant of Karis as their leader. Elves live short, quick lives, as the humans on this planet are particularly brutal and learning quicker and quicker how to hunt elves.
Events: There are no last known events. Greywing's tribe was killed off two turns before she appeared in Beacon Call.
Known Members: Greywing, Flare, Karis, Shadowhunter, Iona
Can other players make elves from this tribe to bring to Beacon Call? Sure, but please ask first; I wanna collaborate with you on it!
Notes: Wandering Steps WAS an actual holt, though it did not take this format...it was more like Beacon Call in that it focused on a tribe of wanderers. However, I played there 15 years ago, and there is very little that remains of the site...so the vast majority of the information here is different than what Wandering Steps was originally.
