Tribe name: Shadow Green Tribe
Leadership: Shared between two sisters with mixed wolf/go-back heritage. Dirk and Frosteye.
Type of elves: Wolfriders and Go-back mixture with strong wolf-blooded ties. Though they have over the turns adopted wanderers into their ranks too just to bring fresh blood into the tribe.
Soul Names: All wolfriders have a soulname, though this is not known at birth, it is usually discovered by the individual when they come of age. There is no set age for finding a soulname. When an elf is ready they are ready and not before. It is however understood that an elf cannot recognise until their soulname is found. It is also considered unfortunate for an elf to die before discovering their soulname. They are thought to be spiritually incomplete without knowing who they truly are. The death of a cub, before knowing their own soulname, is therefore especially upsetting to the tribe.
Recognition: Recognition is a rare and wonderful thing, though not all recognised pairs lifemate. Some do. Some do not. It is an accepted personal choice. The cub is always, regardless of the choice of their parents, considered a child of the entire tribe. None lack for parenting. Orphaned cubs are therefore readily adopted, raised, and nurtured.
Most cubs are born of recognition, due it is believed, to the tribe's strong wolf-blooded ties. However cubs at times are born outside of recognition too. This is thought to occur naturally when there are very few recognitions. The opposite is also true when recognitions are abundant.
Cubs born of recognition are more likely to develop a magical talent. However this can miss a few generations before expression occurs. When expression does occur, the talent, regardless of type or ability, is unusually strong.
Location: Located on another world in the middle of a large valley, close to the sea, and joined inland by a large river that flows into a huge landlocked lagoon.
Culture: They live in the Now of Wolf-thought, although this is often heavily influenced by a strong sense of pragmatism. They send, speak, bond and wolf-send to communicate, but they also have an unusual affinity for magic in their bloodlines. It is not expressed often, but when it is, the talent is unusually strong. The tribe and their chieftesses view magic as something useful in the right hands, but dangerous in the wrong. They permit its use, even encourage it, but are steadfast that any elf with magical talent must train diligently to learn control of their gift.
Events: The holt witnessed a surprise recognition between one of their chieftesses, Dirk and a seasonal tribemate, a Goback trader, Krisk.
