Tribe name: Sprouting Antlers Holt
Leadership: lead by a chief and his family, he can be challenged for leadership or if he steps back willingly, every capable elf wishing for the position competes with each other.
Type of elves: deer-blooded
Soul Names: they do have soul-names, but usually only know them through Recognition or a spirit-quest to find it
Random Info: will dress-up like deer, old furs as hide and including either wooden or thrown-off antlers as head decoration. Young elves tend to break off from the holt in groups to live on their own for a couple years, this is encouraged as a way to form character and gather experience. Generally the tribe lives in ever-shifting loose groups across the forest, semi-nomadic between caves, 'Father Trees', natural shelters in the underbush and tents.
Recognition: they do recognize and the majority of pairs stay together for life after having children. However it's also possible to have childs out of recognition, in this case the parents are expected to stay together till the child has grown up and goes it's own way.
Location: a medieval world, similar to Great Britain, where elves have existed since ancient times, having become a thing of fairy tales. (think like the Djun stories of canon, but different world) Same as the Treewalkers tribe, but they don't know of each other. They live in the middle-north, where the winters are harsh, in a hilly range covered in forest, intersected with many steep mountains. They travel with the deer, mainly among the land belonging to a monastery, due to there being little human hunters, though they avoid contact where possible.
Culture: They can send, but use it mainly as a very private form of communication, having a system of deer calls, whistles and music to communicate without being understood by humans. All of them have word-names that may change during ones lifetime. When asked by humans they'll give nonsense sound-names to add to the fairytales circulating about them. Magic has grown rare among them and members capable of it are highly respected. Some bond with the deer they live among, those being allowed to ride them. It's a ceremony of proofing ones ability as a hunter to find a human hunter going after the deer, trick him into following the dressed-up elf instead and after luring him waywards through the forest, turn the game around and chase him out. This usual occurs in autumn, when the young human hunters try to proof their ability by bringing a hide out of the forest and is seen as more of a game on both sides, given that in the rare instances where either gets hurt, they'll stop and help each other.
Events: a small group has discovered that there is an elf living in the monastry, half human-blooded. It surprised them that such is possible, but given Olims desperation they took it upon themselves to educate him on the way of their tribe, even though it soon got obvious that he would not fit into their tribe well, instincts too different. They decided to leave it upon Olim where to stay and use the connection to learn more about the humans.
Known members: unnamed elves interacting with Olim
Can other players make elves from this tribe to bring to Beacon Call? Yes! Since I don't actually play an elf of this tribe, just have one interact with them, changes can be made where needed, as long as they stay deer-blooded and in the same location
