Dengali Tribal History:
The first Emperor, Kaloun, seized power of three human tribes after a world wide war decimated the cultures of the world. As a result, the
Elves that were alive were scattered to the various factions that remained, many of them rising up to fight the Dengali clan. The
unfortunate result was that the Elves caught in the territories that were conquered by the Dengali subsequently became enslaved or were killed off.
Kaloun recognized immediately that some of the Elves were far superior than his human soldiers in fighting skill and magic, which no human could develop on their own. In an attempt to seize control of this power, he began to force 'pairings' of Elves in an attempt to create stronger magics. This ultimately backfired as some of the Elves were incapable of 'spontaneous' conception as he had wanted.
Using torture techniques, Kaloun learned about Recognition and soul names. In the process, he learned those that were mixed blood with animals were the hardest to break. They were also the most determined to fight to escape, as if the wild beast inside was trying to escape its cage. He also learned about the telepathic ability to speak, send as the Elves called it. This, he believed, would prove to be a tactical advantage in a battle. Stealth operations could be completed without the need of radios or speaking which would keep the enemy from having any clue what the next action would be.

***Habits of the Dengali***
As part of training started as young as two or three years old is to kneel when the Commanding officer or Emperor enters the room or their presence. Kneeling is down on one knee, the right, bent forward so the left knee is against their chests, hands down to the sides, fists against the floor and head bowed. Those that have ears that are able, fold them backwards in a sign of submission. This is viewed more for respect because it even happens if a Dengali Slave is of higher ranking in the military force.
Dengali are very ritualized in that they wake up in the morning, do a basic workout consisting of stretching before practicing with unarmed or hand to hand combat techniques. Cleanliness is important as in their life they could be punished for appearing unclean or ungrounded. Hair length for those capable of growing it is not mandated, but many choose to keep it short for simplicity in care. Style is also not enforced, so long as it won't interfere with duty.
Dengali are used to rationed meals and sometimes not getting them. As part of their regimen they are often tasked with competitions, in which those who are not amongst the first few to complete it are denied a meal to encourage them to work harder. Most Dengali do not sleep deeply or suffer from some form of insomnia. Those that sleep too deeply often find themselves punished for not hearing an approaching attacker, and therefor being a threat to those around them.
***Things Dengali Slaves Face***

The poison is fast moving, however it results in seizures, vomiting, and agonizing pain. Sometimes poor performance ratings or even something as simple as demonstrating a magical ability or having it sensed could result in your execution.
Evaluations of performance and health are regularly conducted. This involves being sent before a Seeker, as well as many medical and scientific personnel, mostly humans. Samples of DNA are taken, tested for infections and compatibility in creating new slaves. Afterward, there are tests to verify submission, that the serum is working.
Sending is strictly forbidden. If a slave is caught sending they and the recipient are executed. Many refuse to send and block themselves from receiving consciously so as to avoid this fate. Due to the way they were modified genetically, sending requires concentration and facial patterns can be used to determine if someone is sending or receiving. This extra concentration doesn't cause the Dengali to stand still, and they are still able to multi-task, but they do show signs of concentration above what would be considered normal for various tasks. It is much like the look someone gets when they are thinking about something while working on something unrelated.
Punishments and Beatings can be for anything. Dropping a utensil too loudly while eating, laughing to loudly, speaking Elvish, for those who know it, or saying something disrespectful about a human, regardless of their social station. ALL Humans are above Dengali slaves, even the human slaves are higher in status.
Newly Elves are a constant threat to order. They constantly attempt to escape and many try to rally the Dengali against the humans. When new territories are conquered, any elves that are captured are enslaved. They undergo the implantation process and the mind control serum is used liberally in order to soften their resolve. Many do succumb to this but those that continually fight often end up killed. Some are smart enough to 'pretend' to be obeying and not resisting simply in order to stay alive until an opportunity to flee is available. Most Dengali prefer to avoid the newcomers so as not to be presumed involved in any plots. The newcomers are usually the ones that send more than others.
Relationships are allowed to a degree. Humans believe strongly that one fights better next to their friends and loved ones. As there is also the aspect of Recognition, sometimes joining of two slaves is unavoidable. As with all young, the child is immediately taken away. There is no negative recourse to the elves that Recognize.
Joining happens, but if offspring occur outside of Recognition, there may be punishments involved, and often the parents and child are isolated for some time to ensure there are no unwanted magics or characteristics in the offspring.
The parents in both situations never meet their child outside of the connection the mother has during pregnancy. It is not unheard of for both parents of a non-Recognition conception to be either executed or the female added to the birthers, as a punishment for being too promiscuous. This results in non-Recognition related joinings to take place secretly.
***Procedures of the Dengali Humans***
Humans hold little regard to the lives of the slaves. They are all branded with numbers at birth, though those that have fur need another way to mark them with their number. They are outfitted with a collar that attaches to the transmitter in their neck and the number is stamped on the front. The number is also stamped on gear and uniforms.
When children are born, they are immediately taken from the birth mother and placed in the care of a nursery. The nursery is mainly run by human slaves who are tasked with raising the young until they are two or three years old. The birth mothers remain in isolation to grow their young, birth them, recover then the cycle continues. If a child is demonstrating prohibited magics, the mother is also executed to prevent future 'failed' offspring.
When children reach 2 to 3 years of age, they are sent to the barracks where training begins. For the 2 to 3 year olds it starts simply. Cognitive skills, reasoning, lots of play geared towards developing desired traits. At 5 combat training begins. By 15 years of age they are moved to another group of barracks. Here they are tested for magics (first time unless they've demonstrated it prior) and are tested for aptitudes to determine future training. Infantry immediately starts training for infantry and in some cases may see their first battle only a few days after being assigned. If they have healing abilities that extend to others, they are transferred to that unit. If they are more technical than physical they are often sent to manufacturing or machine operation such as tanks.
***Dengali Units***
Seekers - Seekers are elves who are able to sense magics in others. They are the most abused in the sense of the mind-control serum. Without it, there is no way to guarantee the Seekers are indeed identifying those with forbidden magics or that are using magic when they are forbidden to do so. Seekers often have no sense of identity and if they were to go too long without the serum, they would likely have some sort of mental or psychological breakdown similar to sensory overload.
Healers - The only medical staff allowed in combat situations are those who are able to heal others. They are often under the mind-control serum during combat in order to prevent fear and flight reflexes. Healers are only able to develop an Average ability to heal and cannot mind-heal or anti-heal.
Shields - Those who are able to use shielding. They do not often live long since they are often sent into battle very young and over-exert themselves. The Mind-Control serum isn't used to keep them under control as they are charged with keeping their friends alive. Many find this motivation enough... As well as self preservation. *Note* Shielding does block radio signals and could potentially save one from execution...until the shielder over-exerts themselves and is killed anyway. None waste their time with that idea.
Technos - Technos is a term for those selected for tank control or other machine use. They are subject to heavy use of the mind-control serum as well in order to keep them from deciding to turn the machines against their owners. These are also the ones that prepare bombs or traps for special operations.
SpecOps - Special Operations are individuals who have excelled in stealth and other combat settings. They are quick to learn and adapt and have proven to be able to overcome almost any obstacle. They all have the ability to self heal, though it is a slow process and they cannot do it without resting. They would be unable to heal critical injuries fast enough to prevent their own deaths without the aid of a healer to stabilize them.
Infantry - Considered the trash of the Dengali slaves. The Infantry often do not display any sort of magical ability save basic self healing. They do not have the mechanical aptitude fore Technos, and they have not proven the skill for SpecOps. These are the grunts that would essentially be considered inconsequential losses.
***Dengali 'Breeds'***
*All* have Soul Names and are mortal. They all feature a drop of animal blood of some sort. All walk upright on two legs, though some will have paws for feet and unable to wear boots. All will have any mix of or none of the following attributes: Animal ears, animal eyes, muzzles, elongated canines, tails, paws for feet and thus unable to wear boots, and/or fur. All have enhanced senses of smell and sight appropriate for their breed.
Feline - Feline breeds would be Lynx, Leopard (any color), Lion, or Tiger (any color). There are no smaller cat breeds. Some may have
retractable claws. Typically stand approximately 4' in height.
Canine - Canine breeds are limited to Foxes and Wolves. They most resemble Wolfriders with the majority lacking animal attributes other
than fangs and senses but it is possible that they have others. Typically stand approximately 4' in height.
Bear - Bear breeds are often very bulky and taller than the other animal breeds. They are more aggressive and almost never have magic, and in many cases even lack self healing. Broad shoulders, muscular build and standing approximately 5' in height.
Non-Animalistic - These Elves were captures and have not been genetically modified. They could have been captured at any age and may
be from any other non-animalistic background except Gliders. Gliders are immediately executed as gliding is a threat to the Emperor. Heights would depend on the source Tribe.
***Prohibited Magics***
*While these are prohibited magics, it is possible that some Captured elves may possess and hide them from Seekers. Any Genetically Modified elves can have them as well, but they would be extremely weak and unskilled with potential of developing them. However, they would have to be very careful and likely have never even used them aside from when they discovered they had it. This would likely cause intense fear of being discovered. If it is discovered, they will be executed.
X-Shaping - Any form of shaping, elemental, bone, stone, tree, etc
X-Healing - Anything other than Self healing or the ability to heal others of critical injury (Average strength). This includes poison
healing. As the main form of execution is through poison, healing this is not allowed.
Gliding - There is no exception to this.
Hypnotism - The ability to control others is only allowed for the Emperor and the serum.
Weather Control - Considered useless and a waste of DNA samples.
Black Sending - Sending is forbidden.
Shapeshifting - There is no need to enforce this one as it does on its own. The way the collar and transmitter is created, they cannot change size or shape. If the transmitter is tampered with or removed without being first disabled remotely, it will immediately release the poison. It has proven too fast even for shapeshifters to avoid.
Jinking/Teleporting - Treated like Gliding.
***Devices***
-All- Dengali slaves will have a transmitter, unless they were freshly captured and have not yet been 'tagged'.
The transmitter is 1 inch in width and 3/4 inch in height. It is surgically fused to the back of the neck, though it does not interfere with movement. This procedure takes place when the slave is able to walk. On the top left is a blue little bump that serves as a light. When on, it means it is able to send and receive signals. On the back, facing away from the neck are a series seven bubbles, from right to left being green, yellow green, yellow, yellow orange, orange, red orange, and red. These are used to monitor the life signs of the slave. Red - Dead, Red Orange - Extremely Critical, Orange - Critical, Yellow Orange - Serious, Yellow - Poor, Yellow Green - Fair, Green - Excellent.
The lights will change to yellow or lower for any reason including illness or injury depending on severity. Generally colds, flu like illnesses, etc are yellow green, but if it worsens, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc, it will go lower due to severity. Injuries such as simple scratches, cuts, and bruises do not alter the status. Injuries need to be more severe in order to change the status such as a broken arm being yellow-green unless it is a compound fracture than it would be yellow. Deep cuts in vital areas, stab wounds, etc that have not struck an organ but still are causing heavy bleeding would be yellow orange. Paralysis due to injury or other critical injury would be orange. Critical injuries such as cuts to arteries, punctured lungs or organs, etc, would be red orange. Red means dead. There is no coming back from dead. Unless it's within a few short minutes, but there is an increased chance of brain or organ damage and typically can't be revived with magic unless it generates an electric pulse of some sort to restart a heart, which given how strictly controlled magic is for the Dengali slaves, would be unlikely.
Maintenance is done to the devices during the regular evaluations to ensure proper levels of serum and poison are in the transmitter, as well as to maintain function. If it is damaged, there is an extreme possibility that the poison will be inadvertently released. This is also a way to ensure there is no tampering with the devices.
***Gear***
*NOTE* There are no star-trek style items. No tricorders, no instant-healing kits, and no replicator devices or teleportation devices. If it isn't listed here, it would be similar in style and design. It's plasma mainly, as bullets are considered costly to make. Some factions outside of Dengali control may still have these types of weapons as backups.
Depending on what the Dengali slave is trained to do will determine gear. All carry plasma guns and extra plasma clips, 3 plasma grenades, a backpack with general survival gear, armored outerwear similar to bullet proof vests though they are mainly used to protect against shrapnel or debris, a helmet (designed for any animalistic features they may have.)
Technos often have tool kits in order to work on bombs or machinery. Healers may have herbs designed to aid in healing. Often during triage, those with lesser injuries are given an herb or other medicine and left to their own devices while the healing magic is saved for those in more dire need.
SpecOps will often have small toolkits designed for setting traps, bombs, dismantling items like door locks, etc as well as a plasma rifle and extra clips of ammo for that as well. Their helmets are often outfitted with night vision and infrared vision.
Infantry will have a plasma rifle and ammo as well. They often have more ammo than the others.
***NON DENGALI ELVES***
These Elves were not conquered or may have been rescued from conquered lands. They can be any type of elf allowed by the game. The Resistance has similar weaponry and machines. Neither side has a technological advantage. These Elves may have any magic allowed by the game.
***NAMING CONVENTIONS***
Those created by the Dengali are given a name of a 1 to 2 letter abbreviation (Wolf = W, Snow Leopard = SL, Lion = L, Lynx = LX, Fox = F, BL = Black Leopard, YL = Yellow Leopard, B = Bear, etc.) followed by the numbered birth they are (2657 = the two thousand, six hundred fifty seventh snow leopard birthed) followed finally by a one letter abbreviation for gender.
Those captured later in life can have any name appropriate for their origin tribe, though they would be assigned a number. After all, they are slaves.
***BEACON CALL***
Elves coming to Beacon Call need to be mindful of the technology coming back with them. The point of being from these factions is not to make things extremely easy for the Elves of Beacon Call and consideration should be taken in regards to what is left behind, destroyed during whatever happens that brings them to the Beacon room, and how much of it.
Try to limit technological advancements as much as possible to make it fun for everyone else, please.

Most Dengali prefer to avoid the newcomers so as not to be presumed involved in any plots. The newcomers are usually the ones that send more than others.
Relationships are allowed to a degree. Humans believe strongly that one fights better next to their friends and loved ones. As there is also the aspect of Recognition, sometimes joining of two slaves is unavoidable. As with all young, the child is immediately taken away. There is no negative recourse to the elves that Recognize.
Joining happens, but if offspring occur outside of Recognition, there may be punishments involved, and often the parents and child are isolated for some time to ensure there are no unwanted magics or characteristics in the offspring.
The parents in both situations never meet their child outside of the connection the mother has during pregnancy. It is not unheard of for both parents of a non-Recognition conception to be either executed or the female added to the birthers, as a punishment for being too promiscuous. This results in non-Recognition related joinings to take place secretly.
***Procedures of the Dengali Humans***
Humans hold little regard to the lives of the slaves. They are all branded with numbers at birth, though those that have fur need another way to mark them with their number. They are outfitted with a collar that attaches to the transmitter in their neck and the number is stamped on the front. The number is also stamped on gear and uniforms.
When children are born, they are immediately taken from the birth mother and placed in the care of a nursery. The nursery is mainly run by human slaves who are tasked with raising the young until they are two or three years old. The birth mothers remain in isolation to grow their young, birth them, recover then the cycle continues. If a child is demonstrating prohibited magics, the mother is also executed to prevent future 'failed' offspring.
When children reach 2 to 3 years of age, they are sent to the barracks where training begins. For the 2 to 3 year olds it starts simply. Cognitive skills, reasoning, lots of play geared towards developing desired traits. At 5 combat training begins. By 15 years of age they are moved to another group of barracks. Here they are tested for magics (first time unless they've demonstrated it prior) and are tested for aptitudes to determine future training. Infantry immediately starts training for infantry and in some cases may see their first battle only a few days after being assigned. If they have healing abilities that extend to others, they are transferred to that unit. If they are more technical than physical they are often sent to manufacturing or machine operation such as tanks.
***Dengali Units***
Seekers - Seekers are elves who are able to sense magics in others. They are the most abused in the sense of the mind-control serum. Without it, there is no way to guarantee the Seekers are indeed identifying those with forbidden magics or that are using magic when they are forbidden to do so. Seekers often have no sense of identity and if they were to go too long without the serum, they would likely have some sort of mental or psychological breakdown similar to sensory overload.
Healers - The only medical staff allowed in combat situations are those who are able to heal others. They are often under the mind-control serum during combat in order to prevent fear and flight reflexes. Healers are only able to develop an Average ability to heal and cannot mind-heal or anti-heal.
Shields - Those who are able to use shielding. They do not often live long since they are often sent into battle very young and over-exert themselves. The Mind-Control serum isn't used to keep them under control as they are charged with keeping their friends alive. Many find this motivation enough... As well as self preservation. *Note* Shielding does block radio signals and could potentially save one from execution...until the shielder over-exerts themselves and is killed anyway. None waste their time with that idea.
Technos - Technos is a term for those selected for tank control or other machine use. They are subject to heavy use of the mind-control serum as well in order to keep them from deciding to turn the machines against their owners. These are also the ones that prepare bombs or traps for special operations.
SpecOps - Special Operations are individuals who have excelled in stealth and other combat settings. They are quick to learn and adapt and have proven to be able to overcome almost any obstacle. They all have the ability to self heal, though it is a slow process and they cannot do it without resting. They would be unable to heal critical injuries fast enough to prevent their own deaths without the aid of a healer to stabilize them.
Infantry - Considered the trash of the Dengali slaves. The Infantry often do not display any sort of magical ability save basic self healing. They do not have the mechanical aptitude fore Technos, and they have not proven the skill for SpecOps. These are the grunts that would essentially be considered inconsequential losses.
***Dengali 'Breeds'***
*All* have Soul Names and are mortal. They all feature a drop of animal blood of some sort. All walk upright on two legs, though some will have paws for feet and unable to wear boots. All will have any mix of or none of the following attributes: Animal ears, animal eyes, muzzles, elongated canines, tails, paws for feet and thus unable to wear boots, and/or fur. All have enhanced senses of smell and sight appropriate for their breed.
Feline - Feline breeds would be Lynx, Leopard (any color), Lion, or Tiger (any color). There are no smaller cat breeds. Some may have
retractable claws. Typically stand approximately 4' in height.
Canine - Canine breeds are limited to Foxes and Wolves. They most resemble Wolfriders with the majority lacking animal attributes other
than fangs and senses but it is possible that they have others. Typically stand approximately 4' in height.
Bear - Bear breeds are often very bulky and taller than the other animal breeds. They are more aggressive and almost never have magic, and in many cases even lack self healing. Broad shoulders, muscular build and standing approximately 5' in height.
Non-Animalistic - These Elves were captures and have not been genetically modified. They could have been captured at any age and may
be from any other non-animalistic background except Gliders. Gliders are immediately executed as gliding is a threat to the Emperor. Heights would depend on the source Tribe.
***Prohibited Magics***
*While these are prohibited magics, it is possible that some Captured elves may possess and hide them from Seekers. Any Genetically Modified elves can have them as well, but they would be extremely weak and unskilled with potential of developing them. However, they would have to be very careful and likely have never even used them aside from when they discovered they had it. This would likely cause intense fear of being discovered. If it is discovered, they will be executed.
X-Shaping - Any form of shaping, elemental, bone, stone, tree, etc
X-Healing - Anything other than Self healing or the ability to heal others of critical injury (Average strength). This includes poison
healing. As the main form of execution is through poison, healing this is not allowed.
Gliding - There is no exception to this.
Hypnotism - The ability to control others is only allowed for the Emperor and the serum.
Weather Control - Considered useless and a waste of DNA samples.
Black Sending - Sending is forbidden.
Shapeshifting - There is no need to enforce this one as it does on its own. The way the collar and transmitter is created, they cannot change size or shape. If the transmitter is tampered with or removed without being first disabled remotely, it will immediately release the poison. It has proven too fast even for shapeshifters to avoid.
Jinking/Teleporting - Treated like Gliding.
***Devices***
-All- Dengali slaves will have a transmitter, unless they were freshly captured and have not yet been 'tagged'.
The transmitter is 1 inch in width and 3/4 inch in height. It is surgically fused to the back of the neck, though it does not interfere with movement. This procedure takes place when the slave is able to walk. On the top left is a blue little bump that serves as a light. When on, it means it is able to send and receive signals. On the back, facing away from the neck are a series seven bubbles, from right to left being green, yellow green, yellow, yellow orange, orange, red orange, and red. These are used to monitor the life signs of the slave. Red - Dead, Red Orange - Extremely Critical, Orange - Critical, Yellow Orange - Serious, Yellow - Poor, Yellow Green - Fair, Green - Excellent.
The lights will change to yellow or lower for any reason including illness or injury depending on severity. Generally colds, flu like illnesses, etc are yellow green, but if it worsens, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc, it will go lower due to severity. Injuries such as simple scratches, cuts, and bruises do not alter the status. Injuries need to be more severe in order to change the status such as a broken arm being yellow-green unless it is a compound fracture than it would be yellow. Deep cuts in vital areas, stab wounds, etc that have not struck an organ but still are causing heavy bleeding would be yellow orange. Paralysis due to injury or other critical injury would be orange. Critical injuries such as cuts to arteries, punctured lungs or organs, etc, would be red orange. Red means dead. There is no coming back from dead. Unless it's within a few short minutes, but there is an increased chance of brain or organ damage and typically can't be revived with magic unless it generates an electric pulse of some sort to restart a heart, which given how strictly controlled magic is for the Dengali slaves, would be unlikely.
Maintenance is done to the devices during the regular evaluations to ensure proper levels of serum and poison are in the transmitter, as well as to maintain function. If it is damaged, there is an extreme possibility that the poison will be inadvertently released. This is also a way to ensure there is no tampering with the devices.
***Gear***
*NOTE* There are no star-trek style items. No tricorders, no instant-healing kits, and no replicator devices or teleportation devices. If it isn't listed here, it would be similar in style and design. It's plasma mainly, as bullets are considered costly to make. Some factions outside of Dengali control may still have these types of weapons as backups.
Depending on what the Dengali slave is trained to do will determine gear. All carry plasma guns and extra plasma clips, 3 plasma grenades, a backpack with general survival gear, armored outerwear similar to bullet proof vests though they are mainly used to protect against shrapnel or debris, a helmet (designed for any animalistic features they may have.)
Technos often have tool kits in order to work on bombs or machinery. Healers may have herbs designed to aid in healing. Often during triage, those with lesser injuries are given an herb or other medicine and left to their own devices while the healing magic is saved for those in more dire need.
SpecOps will often have small toolkits designed for setting traps, bombs, dismantling items like door locks, etc as well as a plasma rifle and extra clips of ammo for that as well. Their helmets are often outfitted with night vision and infrared vision.
Infantry will have a plasma rifle and ammo as well. They often have more ammo than the others.
***NON DENGALI ELVES***
These Elves were not conquered or may have been rescued from conquered lands. They can be any type of elf allowed by the game. The Resistance has similar weaponry and machines. Neither side has a technological advantage. These Elves may have any magic allowed by the game.
***NAMING CONVENTIONS***
Those created by the Dengali are given a name of a 1 to 2 letter abbreviation (Wolf = W, Snow Leopard = SL, Lion = L, Lynx = LX, Fox = F, BL = Black Leopard, YL = Yellow Leopard, B = Bear, etc.) followed by the numbered birth they are (2657 = the two thousand, six hundred fifty seventh snow leopard birthed) followed finally by a one letter abbreviation for gender.
Those captured later in life can have any name appropriate for their origin tribe, though they would be assigned a number. After all, they are slaves.
***BEACON CALL***
Elves coming to Beacon Call need to be mindful of the technology coming back with them. The point of being from these factions is not to make things extremely easy for the Elves of Beacon Call and consideration should be taken in regards to what is left behind, destroyed during whatever happens that brings them to the Beacon room, and how much of it.
Try to limit technological advancements as much as possible to make it fun for everyone else, please.
Note from Panda: I don't care if anyone else plays a character from this time period. I never wrote much information up about the Resistance Factions so it really is pretty wide open for interpretation. This whole setup was designed for a futuristic, post-apocalyptic holt back in the days of yahoo groups, however before it could even start, the founders disappeared and people trickled away without any guidance. I'm willing to discuss or help improve on anything here and fully flesh out the world that results from whatever apocalypse happened. I'm assuming massive world war that collapsed governments and civilization as it was known resulting in kind of a tribal/faction warfare that only united when one group began to systematically conquer the rest. Not to mention, the whole genetically modifying of an entire race being kind of monstrous.
