(( OOC: Okay Vareesi I'll just have the metal part of his reaction referr to her helmet. The Steepside Mountain elves don't have as skilled metal worker as to be able to make more than smaller weapons, so armor of any kind is alien to Keleero. Also, the elves who appear all do so in the Beacon Room, so Rokuta should be in the same room as everyone else here. We can say he appeared in one of the dark corners of the room and that the magic radiating from the beacon makes his sending hard to pin-point and the shock of teleportation maybe made it so he couldn't hear the others speaking when he first appeared. Rokuta - your elf should be able to sense right away that the beacon has powerful magic and that it has done something to you and he other elves here recently; just not exactly what it has done.)) IC:"We're all as confused as you are," Keleero hurried to assure Vareesi, more or less cowering against the wall of the tunnel he still occupied. It should have been reassuring to see her, as she looked the closest to what an elf 'should' look like (metal thing on her head or no), but all her appearance did was remind Keleero of how dangerous other elves could be. For surely if she looked similar to him, she had to come from a home not unlike his own? It was best to not take any risks. "If you want," he continued, adressing both newcomers, "you can go outside and look at the stars. Maybe you'll recognize some of them and be able to find your way home." Not that it had worked for anyone yet... "Sunset and I were just heading out to explore the mountain further while the others look for water and food. It's quite cold outside so we thought it best to set up shelter here until we figure out why and how we ended up here." He meant to go on, when a new sending cut through the conversation. Keleero spotted something moving in one of the darker corners of the cavern. The sending that had reached out, the new voice, was it coming from there?

(( OOC: Keleero he do sense it. I will include in this post why he didn’t find it weird when there’s magic in a cave)) Rokuta was glad that someone answered his sending like expected and immediately followed the voices. The people, probably elves, weren’t as far away as he has first thought, but since the boy wasn’t used to be in the darkness his senses tricked him. The magic that he could feel here was stronger than the one from the cliff caves on Vineta, that were all created with rock-shaping thousands of Floodings ago. It was nothing strange for him, so he didn’t pay much attention to it, however the two big beasts were even stranger to him. As soon as he saw them, for here was a bit lighter, he makes a quick step back, asking scared: “What by the day-moons is that?” Instinctively he forced a shield around himself, to protect himself from these beasts that were bigger than any animal he knew. It took him years of training to react this fast, but thanks to this his abilities with shield-magic were quite good. Regardless that his shield was really safe he holds his chain tight, because defense alone wasn’t enough to survive. Bewildered Rokuta looked at the other elves.

It seemed like the beacon was overworking now, as pretty soon after the latest newcomers, yet another elf flickered in. Juniper groaned lightly -- he remembered he had bumped his head while chasing after a winter-furred hare, but that was about it. On his side, Skulk cowered in the corner and whined -- the wolf had been transported alongside her bond elf. The male elf's vision was a little blurry, but he heard voices in the room -- all of them unfamiliar to him.
"Ah-AHH!" he groaned again, as he touched the bump on the back of his head. Juniper had tried to be as gentle as possible, but the back of his head was pretty painful. Well, at least he was still alive and breathing.

Keleero didn't start when the new stranger proved to have shield-magic; it wasn't anything he hadn't seen before. Mostly he was relieved that the newcomer didn't have a dangerous magic (though he looked like he had weapons and who knew what you could do with a shield if you got creative?).
No, what did make him yelp was the appearance and outcry of yet another elf and yet another beast!
At least he managed to keep his feet on the ground this time.

"I am no star reader, but I could try. I have lived within the mountain for what seems like an endless time... though I'll be honest and say I am not sure if this is the mountain I grew up in. I never seen this cave before, or that," the tallest elf of the bunch said as she nodded to the crystal," I don't even know if we are within a mountain. I'll have to have a look around and see if I find anything familiar. I know that I haven't seen any of you fledglings before. Not even you..." She eyed Keleero for a moment. While he looked like her, much more than those who kept the company of animals, he still had something about him that was unlike the elves she had grown up with.
"Calm now," she urged as another young appearing 'fledgling' showed himself after he had sent and reacted in a similar way as she had done when she came face to face with the companion of the golden haired she-elf, though with magic rather than a weapon," it is alright. You are safe..." Or so she hoped. Were they really? She took it upon herself to try and prove it as she swung the spear she held behind her and took the sling to buckle the weapon back in place, no longer armed. She even held up both her hands for a moment to everyone to show that she had no ill intentions towards anyone. It was time to try and assess the situation now that everyone inside the cave had come together, riled up or not. "We're all friends here," she said with a certain certainty while she laid a hand upon her chest and conjured a smile," I am Vareesi, provider and warrior for my kin. And this is Aire, a dear friend." She rose her shoulder a little for the small bird of prey to show himself though the sparrowhawk seemed oblivious to it being introduced and simply remained perched upon the feather trimmed shoulder padding, its eyes on the felines and the wolf.
And then another elf made their sudden appearance. Like a rockslide he came in with another wolf and for a moment Vareesi regretted she had put her spear away but it became all the quickly apparent that this was another confused elf. A confused elf who had made a bad landing like she had for he was audibly wincing. "Barbs and quills, it doesn't end... Are you alright?"

Goldenbraid turned towards the elf emerging from the dark corner, wondering just how many elves had been brought here….. where ever here was? She thinking of greeting him when suddenly the glow of some shield of magic appeared around him, making her nearly jump back.
It made Lost-cause edgy too as she felt the muscles in his shoulder tense under her hand where it touched him. Likely it would have gotten unfriendly in the cave again…. if not for the flash behind her heralding another arrival.
She turned as did her bond wolf, a growl starting in his throat again, when it suddenly changed to a low whine. She saw the newest arrival was both a mixed blood like her but also a wolfrider. For they both seemed to be cuddled up against the wall, and she guessed the wolf was a female from Lost-cause’s reactions, for the cringing wolf was not a threat in his opinion it seemed. She was sure though they were not from her tribe, which suggested another similar tribe it seemed.

The small one hasn’t expected that someone would be scared of his magic, so he weakened his shield because he don’t want to upset blond haired girl. “Oh sure! I’m in an alien cave with a temperature that’s impossible in my homeland, among strangers and oversized squirrels, don’t know how I get here and a giant tells me that I’m safe. As if I would believe this!” said the boy harsh as an answer to the diplomacy from the tall elf. *Friends? How could I be friends with someone I’ve never seen before…* But he must agree that it was better to stay calm and so he put his chain back into his bag. *Good that I have this one with me…if I lose my water bag I’d have some problems* Rokuta was about to introduce himself when another elf with another beast appeared right out of the nothing. Immediately he strengthens his shield again and moved back. “Geez, why are the beasts here so huge?” The boy couldn’t believe that so big furry animals were existing, for in his world any animal that was no fish and taller than 2 Inches wouldn’t be able to survive. So like Keleero he dislike to be around these beasts, even if he don’t cry out like him.

Keleero relaxed somewhat when Vareesi put her spear away. It could still be a trick of course - how many times hadn't he heard 'we're all friends here' just before someone got a dagger in their back? - but it was better than an outright fight. Subterfuge, if there was any here, he was used to dealing with.
"I can assure you that we're inside a mountain," Keleero said in answer to Vareesi's words. "We've been outside. And no one we've met has recognized this place, so we don't think anyone lives here. At least no elves."
He held back the fact that he'd used his magic to examine the mountain as well. He wasn't the most skilled of Steepside Mountain's rock-shaper, so he couldn't tell if there more tunnels higher up in the mountain, but there was no one walking the closest tunnels. Then again, there could be gliders who didn't need to touch stone to move about...
Keleero held his tongue as the newcomer without any form of beast, big or small, spoke his harsh words. Such open distrust was quite the shock to Keleero. Of course you couldn't trust other elves just like that, but to admit that to their face was just not done! That was a deathwish if he'd ever heard one.
"Are you cold?" Keleero managed to ask, the only question to formulate in his shock shaken mind. "Sunset and I were-" He shook his head and gave a soft, self-depricating laugh. "I apologize, I haven't introduced myself. I am Keleero of Steepside Mountain." He gave the gathered elves a quick bow.
"And I fear I have no such important task in my home as you," he added, giving Vareesi a nod."I wa-, am a dancer and singer." It felt almost embarrassing to admit it. Everyone he'd met so far seemed to have some helpful skill in surviving here and that was all he had to contribute. Well, unless he felt like admitting his magic to yet more strangers.
Keleero distracted himself from that thought path by looking over at the injured newcomer. "Does anyone know how to help him?" Tending injuries had never been his task - though he'd always thought about learning some basic skill to heal, if only small cuts. I should have taken that chanse earlier.

"I-- Augh..." Juniper muttered, still poking the bump in his head, "I hit my head ... er, earlier?" he replied to the tall female, although he did not feel like he should.
At this time, he had now enough concentration to look at the questionable company in the room, and the room itself. As he had never ever been in a cave, he started to feel a little uneasy, trapped in a stone room -- the male wolfrider needed open spaces and trees around him. "What is this place? And WHY am I here?" he asked the company, especially the tall and thin male, who seemed to like his own voice maybe a little too much.
For a little while, Juniper thought he had fallen to a troll trap beneath the rock he had hit his head on, but he then remembered his tribe had driven away the trolls ages ago -- was this Slicer's new trick? As the company was most definitely elf-kind, the treeshaper took it was safe to introduce himself. "My name is Juniper, this is Skulk." he gestured at the beast beside him, as the wolf tried to be as small as possible and maybe go through the wall.
~*~
OoC: Slicer would be a troll leader of the trolls Juniper's tribe had driven away from Juniper's last homeplace.

Vareesi shook her head while a small smile crept onto her lips in response to Keleero's words. "No, I am not cold... maybe you could sing for us later, unless you don't like crowds. It is good for morale however,," she said, lowering her guard only slightly to not come across as stand-offish or cold natured. She took a moment to think about what exactly he had said, about them being within a mountain which so far nobody had recognized. It continued to raise the question how everyone had ended up here so suddenly. All seemed to be doing something before they appeared here, like how she was talking to Almar and walking down the stone corridor to then smack upon the very floor she was standing upon right now.
Careful to not shoo Aire from her shoulder, she took off her helmet and clipped it to her belt, listening to the others talking and asking questions. This must have been a shock for many. "I don't expect anyone to trust another," she said after allowing the elf with shielding magic to calm down a little," I know this is strange... we all are wondering where we are and how we got here but nobody of us has an answer. We also won't be getting an answer by standing here and stare at this crystal some more." She rose a hand to motion for the orange crystal, her eyes slightly squinting as she gazed upon it with suspicion. "Either you stay here or go explore to seek answers, perhaps food and shelter. I will do the latter... Anyone who wishes to come along is welcome to do so. I would advice for no one to go off alone; it is obvious we are in unknown territory." She remained for a moment to see who would decide to come with her, taking in the faces of those who were with her in the cave.

Goldenbraid was pleased when the one elf eased up on the magic surrounding him, but it lasted but a moment as he again intensified it when the last elf showed up, and from his rather harsh words, she was to guess he wasn’t use to large animal like they bonds. Neither was the elder by the tunnel, she was beginning to believe, as he appeared to get wide-eyed every time one appeared with an elf.
Considering Lost-cause didn’t like caves much, and his loner tendencies made him nervous and uncomfortable around many, she decided to send her bond outside and make all feel better. :: Go outside, old friend. :: She sent an image of the one tunnel leading from the mountain, though she figured he could himself smell the air coming in. :: Find a safe spot, wait for me. Keep alert, but hurt nothing for now, can’t tell friend from prey here at present.::
The large wolf glanced about for a moment then moving around all present with safe distance, sprinted up the tunnel and outside, finding a spot near a tree to sit and await his rider.
Noticing that some of the others were giving their names, tribes and general activities done for tribe, she decided it would help to ease tempers to join in. “I’m Goldenbraid, one of the hunters for the White Oak tribe.” Or what is left of it, she was thinking but didn’t add.
She listen to the tall female elder, Vareesi, agreeing with her that they weren’t going to get many answers just standing about, glancing at the strange glowing orb which she suspected had much to do with their being brought here….. where here was?
At Vareesi’s suggestion…. Or was it statement….. that she was going outside to search for answers and such, Goldenbraid nodded. “A most excellent idea. I will go with you, and see if anything strikes familiar with me, and then help with securing basic needs if they are to be found.”

“I’m cold“ admitted Rokuta after the giant has spoken. “But that’s no problem, I have my cloth…it’s not made for this weather, but should do it.” After he said this the boy untied the folded cloth that he seemed to use as a belt and fastened it around his shoulders like a coat. Since he wasn’t the biggest one it worked. *Would never thought that I need to use it this way…* While the newcomer asked his questions and the tall one spoke he stayed silent and let the shield around him disappear, since none of the beast seems to want to attack him and the one that seemed to belong to the golden haired girl was gone away. Only as Varessi mentioned the crystal he looked to it. “What’s wrong with that? Just some magic in the wall…nothing unusual where I come from.” Because everyone seems to introduce himself he does the same. “I’m called Rokuta, Scouter and Trapper from the Mangrove Forests People of Vineta. And I would also prefer to go with you, but I’m quite sure that this is no place known on my homeland.” The young boy didn’t say anything about the fact that he has some food and water, because that wouldn’t be enough for all of them and they need more anyway. If they won’t find anything he could still share his belongings. *No world could exist without water…and if there is water there is fish and to catch some of them won’t be a problem*
((OOC: Please don’t forget that Rokuta is pronounced Rok’ta and Vineta Vin’ta. Feel free to let your elves misunderstood the last as “winter”.))

Two offers, both children in her eyes but they seemed strong and mature enough to aid her. If others would like to follow they were welcome to, but the glider was in no mood to stand about and wait. Vareesi gave a light nod in approval when Rokuta and Goldenbraid offered to come with her and she turned to head for the only exit she could see within the cave, saying to answer the boy's question," I never seen anything like it before. You sense magic coming from it?" To her it was nothing but a glowing crystal which emitted an aura of suspicion. She didn't like the thing and would be happy to be far from it, no matter that one of her companions seemed to be unphased by it. With Vareesi moving, Aire spread its wings to prepare itself for flight, leaving the safety and comfort of its mistress' shoulder padding to get ahead of the very small group of elves which were about to venture outside. With a smooth swoop it disappeared from sight through the hole in the wall, a screech echoing from the dark tunnel ahead. "Tight fit..." she mumbled as she peered into the tunnel, running a hand along the edges of it as if to examine it. It was a tight fit for one her size, but the fledgelings shouldn't have any trouble moving through it," not the work of trolls from the looks of it. No matter, it is a way out. We'll send if anything goes wrong or we find danger. Do the same and I'll come swiftly." She looked towards the others remaining in the cave to see if they acknowledged what she had said before she rose herself off the floor with her gliding capabilities and floated through the tunnel which Keleero had shaped earlier (unbeknownst to her), feeling and tasting the fresh air which seeped through. Keleero didn't comment when Vareesi stepped out through the short tunnel he'd made that led outside. It was better to not complicate things. And it wasn't as if he was lying, just not interrupting important exploration tasks with comments. Perfectly reasonable. "I wish you all the best of luck," he said to Vareesi, Goldenbraid and Rokuta. "I and whoever stays with me, will make sure you have someplace warm - or at least warmer than outside - to return to." At the 'magic in the wall' comment from Rokuta, Keleero stole an uneasy glance at the amber crystal. Maybe... But no, that was madness - magic far too powerful to have survived this long after the loss of the last High One. And yet... To distract himself, he turned his attention to Juniper and Sunset. "Will you two be joining me? We've already discussed this, of course," he added, addressing Sunset, "but I thought it only polite to ask if you've changed your mind." Then he turned to Juniper. "And excuse me if I say so, but you look like you could use some rest. I don't know much about healing and I'm sure none of us know why we are here, but I do know that rest heals most wounds. Would you like to accompany Sunset and I to see where the tunnels lead? We could use a place warmer than here." Oddspot was still curled around the cheetah kitten, keeping a watchful eye on all present. She seemed to relax bit by bit as elves and animals left the room. Sunset nodded to Keleero. "I haven't changed my mind; it's far too cold outside for me, and Oddspot seems to have taken a liking to the kitten." She rested on the floor next to the pair, watching the proceedings in quiet thoughtfulness.
